Where Do You Stand On Issues?

Recommended Posts

On politicalcompass.org , you can pass a test that will show you where you stand on the... well... political compass. Its probably not fully accurate, but it gives you a good idea of how much of a leftist, rightist, authoritarian or libertarian you are. Im just curious what are your results.

Here's mine: http://politicalcompass.org/printablegraph...0&soc=-6.10

Also the 2008 US elections compass: http://politicalcompass.org/uselection2008

P.S.

Holy shit! I must be a commie! :P

Yea i've taken that quiz- it's terrible. Just look at the first question: If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations.

It implies (assumes even?) that only when government intervenes in the economy will globalization serve humanity. And besides- I do think gobalization in inevitable, but only in the long run. For now, we need to each solve our own problems. When each country in the world is stable and prosperous (and free?), then we will have the resources to globalize without the detrimental "colony" like effects modern globalization has on 3rd world countries.

/there should be a "Fuck you" choice instead of just agree/disagree

Try this quiz: http://www.theadvocates.org/quizp/index.html or http://www.quiz2d.com/quiz/

My score on the theadvocates quiz: http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz-score/draw.php?p=10&e=8

My score on the quiz2d longer quiz: http://www.quiz2d.com/quiz/resultGraph.php...Libertarian.png

Well, I could say in response that you're also very naive to believe in the current system :D

You are even more naive in believing that everything is so black and white.

Don't let that graph fool you, just because Im not on the center means that Im radical. On social issues(Top to bottom) we're pretty close, the major difference between you and me is that I believe much more in the Welfare state and you don't, thats all really.

I agree that many questions were pretty stupid so thats why I also took that first one, and here's my result: http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz-score/draw.php?p=9&e=2

Though, the problem with this quiz is that its waaay too short. It covers only a few issues.

Weee. I'm rather close to Camail it looks like, slightly more authoritarian though.

Interesting, even if it's not terribly accurate..

Every single one of those questions had separate side issues: For example - should a couple with serious genetic defects be allowed to reproduce (or not..don't remember the phrasing) - it depends, what do you classify as serious? Something like Autism or Down's Syndrome? That..no, many have contributed much to society; but other defects like...I don't know any specific diseases off of the top of my head - but children should not be forced into this world, where not only will the serve society no purpose, and rather be a burden on them - but to also feel the pain themselves.

It's too yes/no, but for a quiz to work it sort of has to be.

I dont stand on anything. The only person I rely on is myself. No government will make all McDonald employees have the salaries of Chemical Engineers. No government will make 300lb fat asses be in shape. No government will teach you how to invest your retirement money wisely, and no government is going to read your kids a book.

Even if Sarah Palin became the president, Ill still have a great future.

The differences between a Republican or a Democrat in office will very much have little impact on your life, thats true, but saying you dont stand on anything is plain dumb and you know it.

I really just want to spread my seeds around the world like Genghis Khan. Look at the issues in this election, it boils down to economy and health care. What does this all really mean? People wanna have money, and people dont wanna die. Are there really any real issues other than that?
