Storm38 Team Win 0 #1 Posted April 23, 2009 So with about a week till the game, who do you think is going to win? Both teams have very good players and should be a good game.

Rivanor 1 #3 Posted April 23, 2009 stock hehe. Well that was blunt and to the point. I am not going to make any predictions about the winner since I am not familiar with the Goldrush squad, but I have played on the Goldrush 24/7 #2 server lately and I was impressed by how well each side knew the map, so I am going to predict that both teams at least make it to Goldrush 3 on offense. I hope that's the case, anyway, it would make for a more exciting match.
Is going JDM 0 #4 Posted April 23, 2009 Don't care bc it's on a thursday and I won't be able to play. Nah I'm still rooting for my goldrush mates even though I know you guys will steamroll them on Steel.
Rydawg 14 #5 Posted April 24, 2009 Riv, u talk as if Goldrush is hard to learn. Its by far the easiest map to know where to defend and where not to. Stock doesnt have but 2-3 'true' stock stackers. Even then they arent playing their best class. Still my vote is Stock, my intelligence > yours.

Chamrox 0 #8 Posted April 24, 2009 Ya'll just had to pick a date that I could neither play as an alt nor watch! I hope someone makes a highlight reel video so I can watch when I get back. Obviously I'm pulling for Goldrush, cause they're mah boyz, BUT I think it's going to boil down to luck and communication. I give the GR guys the edge on GR, and the stock guys the edge on Steel, obviously. I've played with and and against almost all of the players that are involved and it's a good crop. It will be fun because neither are a clan, and both teams cut their teeth on killing mass quantities of random people on a public server. However, this actually will go against both teams as they will be playing a good team full of people that won't make those n00b mistakes, or use obvious tactics. They won't move with clan like precision but they have skilled players. For example, the other team knows how to lead a target, how to aim, they know the burn range of a pyro moving forward, they know how to bat down a heavy by circle straffing.... etc... Each player is like Tiger Woods, sure they're using the same club as everyone else, but they have 1000 different shots for each hole. This will be a big difference from racking up n00b kills on a public game. So, players being somewhat equal, I will predict that the Goldrush team will win. Here's why: Assume they play GR 95% of the time they play TF. All of these guys could get to any point on any GR map blindfolded. No, Goldrush isn't a complicated map, but these guys have pretty much been over every possible scenario, and almost every player action. So let's say that they have a 95% mastery of the map. Let's just throw a number out there and say they've played Steel maybe 1-2% of their TF experience. The Stocker's have what? A 10 map rotation? So, let's assume that they play each map equally, I know it's not a good assumption but it works for my line of thinking. If this is the case they will have a 10% mastery of Steel, and a 10%Mastery of Goldrush. So... who has the overall "map mastery" advantage? Goldrush GR 95% vs Stock10% Delta of 85% Steel GR 1% vs Stock 10% Delta of 9% My point is, GRplayers have a huge advantage on GR, and Stock players have only a slight advantage on Steel. Players being equal, I give the edge to GR. Barring a superstar player emerging from Stock, barring bad luck, barring bad communication (ie Deadeye drunk or Storm high on Red Bull), I say that the Goldrush team will win. ShadoMagi 0 #10 Posted April 24, 2009 I can't agree with that delta calculation of who will win. Steel is not a map that needs 95% of your playing time to have 95% mastery compared to Goldrush. There are strategies that people who play at least 10% of their time on Steel will know that people who play it 1% won't, and lose on both sides because of it. I can give those people that play goldrush 95% of their time some credit for playing the map and having better mastery over it, but that map is not considerably complex. It's a map that has distinct choke points, of which can be easily beaten with good teamwork by the attacking team. I'm going to go with the Stock team on this competition as I think they have Steel in the bag, and have a chance on Goldrush.
Chamrox 0 #11 Posted April 24, 2009 I'll give you that Steel is a much more complex map therefore harder to master. That makes sense. It may be more even than I thought.

myelin 10 #13 Posted April 25, 2009 I say that it will be a tie, as in the GR team ties the noose around the stock team's neck! Muahaha
