Oww My Nose 19 #1 Posted April 25, 2009 My monitor just won't turn on now, so I did some quick looking around, an this monitor seemed to have some good reviews. I was hoping to get other people's opinions on it though. Or some other recommendations on some 22" or 24" monitors (preferably found on tigerdirect.ca, since I know a guy with a corporate account on there, and there's special perks that come with that)
FunkyFresh 68 #2 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) newegg.com is my recommendation. Honestly the prices combined with the user reviews on everything just makes it worthwhile. Search just..monitors..sort by top-rated or most-reviewed then read the reviews. Even if you don't buy from the site - use the peoples reviews. Otherwise you're just reading bullshit from the people who want you to buy their monitor. What Is It & Why You Need It * Built on the Kinergy Design, the BenQ V2400W makes a bold yet charming statement of modern simplicity. * BenQ brings you the world’s slimmest 24” widescreen LCD monitor. Like that shit, lmao. Edited April 25, 2009 by FunkyFresh
Rydawg 14 #3 Posted April 25, 2009 I buy about 1k worth of stuff from newegg every other month...... SO when I say don't buy a monitor from them it should hold some weight. WHile newegg.com has the best customer service around, when it comes to their monitors they have horrible return rates and bad return policy... I have bought all my monitors ( 6 over last year) from Bestbuy or buy.com. TD is good as well Far as the monitor you picked..... It rocks, BenQ is IMO the best monitor company. I have a BenQ G2400WD and I would recommend it to anyone, its usually slightly lower price that the V2400W but if you look @ reviews for either one you will find that they are pretty similar.... Oww My Nose 19 #5 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) i'd just use it for tf2/movies. and that looks like it'd be an upgrade from what i had (Samsung 226BW) Max Sync Rate (V x H) 75 Hz x 81 KHz and thanks rydawg, soon as i get some extra money, i'll probably end up buying this Edited April 25, 2009 by Oww My Nose

Oww My Nose 19 #8 Posted April 26, 2009 ya, and it's been making a high pitch squeal whenever there's no input (ie i turn the computer off) for the longest time, which was it's warning that it was going to die soon (or, at least that's my guess)
Miyari 33 #9 Posted April 26, 2009 To reiterate, don't buy an LCD from NewEgg, they have a shitty dead pixel policy. Find your monitor at a retailer with either a non-descript return policy or at a local store. That being said, the BenQ looks like a good pick, decent price, too. If you were up to shelling out an additional $100 for no particular reason I'd recommend the ones I use, but I'm also a Samsung whore.

El Phantasmo 56 #11 Posted April 26, 2009 How big do you want to go? There are many nice 1080p HDTV out there. Saw a 37inch at Target for $599 yesterday. Most have inputs for a Compter and have a tuner. This would be very nice for a computer/bedroom. I use a 720p projector in my basement. Not as nice as a 1080, but blown onto a 102 inch screen and connected with a 7.1 receiver makes the best gameing and movie experience ever. If money is a problem then I would recommend Sams Club. They carry samsung, viewsonic, and visio. Their prices are usually really good and my local club has a variety in stock www.samsclub.com two (samsung & Viewsonic) 26 inch types 1920x1200 for $399 24 inch samsung 1920x1080 for $279 and a variety of 19, 20, and 22 inch for under $200 I bought my work monitor there (samsung 20inch) and have not had any problems. Oww My Nose 19 #12 Posted April 26, 2009 @miyari there's no good selection of monitors anywhere within 60 miles of me =\ </3 winnipeg @rydawg i can't find the origional reciept, and i've been looking for an upgrade anyways, lol @el phantasmo my desk is kinda small, and closed in on both sides, so i can't fit more than a 24" monitor in there =\ and looks like sams club is only in the US
