I can concur with xiel. It happened to me tonight. Unfortunately I don't have demos, so you'll just have to trust me on this one. Although I don't really have anything to gain from lying.

This is an excerpt of my experience (taken from a PM): (Goldrush #2)

It was a usual night of the green-named people spamming the text-chat, and seeing the occasional mute, kick, and ban vote. Then things went bad. A group of guys/girls with the tag [team win] (I have seen them play here before, so I assume they are regulars) started getting out of control. First they are spamming out of control, (namely a guy named Terminator). Spamming I can deal with, but then they just start randomly ban/kick voting. They are picking people out of the blue, guys who are going about their business just trying to have a good time. I see a random get banned. Kind of upsetting since the poor schmuck was just playing like everyone else, not spamming, not even chatting. About 10 [team win] guys show up, and this is where the real trouble starts. They're all (specifically SodaPop) just vote kicking and banning whomever they want now that they have such large numbers connected. While this is all taking place, they are all on the same team, which doesn't bother me one bit. The opposite team (which I'm a part of) is just getting hammered, obliterated. Once again, I have no problem getting my ass handed to me over and over. Then these guys start kicking/banning people on my team (the losing team). This really sucks. I mean my team is playing hard, getting wiped in like 3 minutes per round, and not whining one bit about it. We're being really good sports and they just start booting us. I was probably the 3rd or 4th to go..yes they vote kicked me. I hadn't done anything up to that point. Basically I was just playing Sniper, getting my ass handed to me each spawn.

Just thought I would offer myself as a witness if need be.

I figured I'd chime in to this thread since I am one of the GR#2 regulars. We like to have a good time on the server. Sometimes that fun gets out of control. Yes, I think that someone needs to warn JohnnySodapop that the excessive vote ban/kick/mute is out of control. His behavior is reinforced because most of our team members laugh and egg him on. I personally don't think a permanent ban should be issued. Rather, a formal warning with clear repercussions seems more appropriate.

I'll let our clan members [Team Win] know about this thread. As mentioned earlier, all of us do not act in this manner. I initiate vote kicks/bans/mutes when appropriate.

The issue with xiel is getting out of hand. Whether or not the guy is cheating, he can barely join the server before a vote kick/ban is initiated. We've suggested that he change his name for the time being to avoid this.

Last, the issue with Bear Breath is a non-issue. The guy is good, and when paired with a medic, he is even better. Although it is annoying to be dominated by him, this is not a reason to complain. Either get better or join his team. Tip: team up on him and go after his medic first. Many go straight for him first and fail time after time.

I am too both a Goldrush regular and the Leader/Starter of [Team Win]. I do agree with Myelin and I understand that the server can get a little out of control. There is no "cure" for team stacking, friends are going to play with friends, that's how it is. As for the voteban/kick/mute, I suggest that the whole server takes it down a notch, not just [Team Win], or [TECHNO].

Advise for Mr. Xiel: Change your name. Seriously, lots of people "including myself" have suspicion of you cheating. Although we don't have proof of you "Aimboting", that won't stop the votebans/kicks.

I understand that Mana is trying to create a friendly/competitive gaming community and it isn't easy. And he shouldn't have to waste his time warning everybody "or giving them yellow cards like in elementary school again" about the rules of the severs. I will try my best to warn other users about abusing their donor privileges. But I don't think we need to "In my opinion" start banning people for what happened last night, or in the past for that matter. Team stacking is one thing (Stock is bad at this) but its completely different to harass people playing on servers that arent your own.

I'm a regular, no surprise there, and for the past week things have been going bad. It's gotten to the point where there is a votekick/ban/mute every minute or so.

And to those who keep referring to Goldrush being some sort of utopia for all these immature people, it isnt.

There are around maybe 4 or 5 with donator benefits causing most of the problems.

The Mic spam and text spam is bullshit IMO. We all know each other pretty well, so we end up chatting a lot and organizing.

Most of these guys are great, and there are only a few bad apples.

Also, I'd like to see Rydawg and Phantom come on there when there are actual regulars on.

The times Iv seen them on, most of the other team were randoms.

Anyway, the problem hasn't been going for but a week or so.

However, please do not ban the clans themselves, because it's a only a few people causing problems.

About teamstacking, it happens, get over it. I play whatever team I feel like. If I feel like steamrolling I'll join stacked team, if not I join fail team and try to turn it around.

Just a suggestion to help you out, my friend. Until now, it doesn't seem that anything was going to be done about it. I personally don't think that you should use an alias to be able to play. However, if it was between being able to play with an alias or being kicked/banned with the current name, I'd choose the former.

I know I'm not an member of Lotus, but I have to say this is no excuse. You choose to be with those people and they reflect on you. It's the same as saying oh, this person in our company releases bad software, but I don't so you should trust mine. The problem is that the software is released by the company still and as a company, people lose their trust in you. It works the same for clans in gaming.

From what I have seen and experienced with Team Win (one time on a stock server plus reading posts), the clan is full of a bunch of immature people who think they're untouchable and can do what they want just because they are donating regulars.

So I'm a regular on the Goldrush #2 server as well. At night the server can get a little out of hand, but most of the time it's all in good fun. Not EVERYONE in Team Win or TECHNO are a bunch of assholes. I spam chat sometimes, that was stated above, after seeing this thread I will never do that again. However myself and many others have never initiated a kick/ban just for the hell of it. Yes, there are certain individuals who do this to the point where it gets out of hand, but it's a small percentage. People who keeps saying "everyone in that Team Win group are a bunch of immature asshats who try to kick/ban everyone" are completely wrong. Most of us just enjoy playing on the lotus servers and are friends and are having a good time.

While it may be ridiculous to warn each individual about this, why not mass warn them? I've already talked with several members who are freaking out that they will be banned, word spreads pretty quickly. I guarantee that many of the members of Team Win and TECHNO will stop all the bullshit after this thread. Of course Mana is admin and none of us can convince him as to what he's going to do, but I think as long as everyone from Team Win and TECHNO are sent a link to this thread and understand this is a first/last warning, they will understand and stop the jackassery.

But once again, it really isn't EVERYONE from these groups that are causing problems, just a select few.
