sh00p_de_k00p 0 #1 Posted January 7, 2010 Apparently it's okay to ban people based on association. I hadn't played on a Lotus Clan server in quite some time, so when a friend of mine sent me an invite to play on the Dustbowl server, I quite readily accepted, looking forward to playing on a well respected, quality server once again. Then I got this message. Banned from the server. Member of SeaTeD. Am I a member of the STEAM group SeaTeD? Yes. But I'm also a member of No Heroes, =EVGA GAMING=, The WNxGES Public Group, Manchester Bronited, Clan of Winners, Cart Pushers Anonymous, Goldrush Junkies, and the Free Frag Network. I don't know what the SeaTeD clan did to deserve getting banned in it's entirety, but I do NOT represent STD, nor do I have any affiliation with them past being in the same Steam Group. Excuse me if I'm being rude, but banning me for being in the Steam group SeaTeD is like banning me for being a BRO. Just because I belong in the group, doesn't mean I carry around a card and introduce myself as sh00p_de_bro. Please unban me, my friend is still waiting. Respectfully, sh00p_de_k00p STEAM_0:1:6365917
Oww My Nose 19 #2 Posted January 7, 2010 did you try leaving the group and seeing what happened?
Mana 3,867 #3 Posted January 7, 2010 Please unban me, my friend is still waiting. Now what would the point in that be? You'd get autobanned soon after for the very same reason.
sh00p_de_k00p 0 #4 Posted January 7, 2010 I didn't realize that leaving the group would get rid of the ban, figured a Lotus Clan admin looked at the people in STD, banned em all, and listed that as the reason. I'll try leaving the group, since, as I said before, not really affiliated with them.
