Voteban-Abusers.

This is sort of an odd topic, but people are abusing the voteban option and manipulating it for reasons that are untrue. I have played in the server for a month or so, and I've never had any real trouble with anyone before. I was never kicked, banned, warned, or anything by any admin. The basic short story is I didn't heal someone named [Fail] Zeo, and she/he got upset over it. I told her to calm down and not act like a child. The [Fail] clan have 5-10 people in the server to initiate a voteban, so they do. Three times.

They voted to ban me THREE times, simply because I didn't heal one person in their clan. They called it "griefing." But, worse than that when the vote to ban appear it said, "Ban Posty? Reason: Hacking" So naturally others are going to now wrongfully going to assume I am hacking, and want to get rid of me. My point is this system is being exploited wrongly for reasons that are improper. It's not fair to initiate numerous votebans over a personal difference then claim I am a hacker.

What I suggest is:

Removing the voteban option, just have votekick.

Banning the [Fail] clan members involved for abusing the voteban system over unfair reasons.

Perhaps have more admins on the server for cases like this. People shouldn't get banned because another person has a personal issue with someone.

As for proof, I don't really have any. I mean anyone in the server could testify, I have logs from console of the votes.

I have been playing on lotus fot many years. Banning ALL Fail members for the actions of a few would be dumb. No demo means nothing will be done. You need proof(demos) that abuse is happening.

I have a lot of friends on Lotus EC. I've been a regular there since the tail end of last year. I'm the leader of [Fail].

You call me all sorts of names on a server I play on all the time and expect my friends / clan not to voteban you? I didn't screenshot it because I didn't think you'd be so much of a baby as to go ahead and create this ridiculous thread...And anyway, most of it was you calling me names through VC which there were a lot of witnesses to.

I went along with the ban because I didn't appreciate the abuse you were giving me for no reason at all and the fact that you were griefing Dredry and I.

So there you have it. THESE are the FACTS of what happened. You got the Eballs to call me all sorts of names and act like a child about it? Accept the consequences tough guy. A 30 minute ban for you. You were being nothing but a troll that day.

I recently kicked someone from [Fail] for abusing the voteban system on EC Lotus so now you know my opinion on that.

Also just to point out...The guy who voted to ban you for "Hacking" wasn't in [Fail]. Only 2 people were including me...The majority of the vote were non-fail members.

Shutup Zeo, you're not helping your case by starting yet more internet drama in this section of the forum. The ban request/unban request sections have enough of that crap as it is.

This is also the 1st time I've ever posted on this forum. One of my Clan members told me about this post so I replied to it because what Posty said was nothing short of a pack of lies. Would you not do the same???? You come on here to state something already posted by another Lotus member...You were saying you had a lot of drama to deal with? Why not start by dealing with things that haven't had a response yet instead of undermining what your colleague had already said.

Well, this is my first official post on the Lotus forums and I must say, I completely agree with most of what you said miss Melissa (the quoted part at least).

Evidence is not only the key word but it is also everything! What I mean by that is I would also like to see this provided demo so that I may judge this situation as well. Words can explain situations but as we have clearly seen in the posts above the one you are currently reading, they can also cause mix-ups when trying to explain two opposing sides of a single situation. That is where the provided demo enters the game! Free of compromise (hopefully) and presenting every single but of evidence on a 100% truth filled level would be the best way to approach the situation.

Sadly, and I say this with no intention of offending you Melissa, but it seems that you already hold negative feelings towards Zeo if not the rest of the [Fail] clan. As a member of that clan I feel slightly uncomfortable and maybe a little paranoid knowing that you possess a copy of said demo and will be judging upon this situation with a biased opinion of the people on "trial"; which is why I am requesting a copy of this demo if, and this is the paranoia speaking, it does indeed exist. I would like to be able to analyze this misunderstanding myself since I was not present during the incident in question, and come up with a "compromise".

We of the [Fail] clan have been accused of many things in the past and while I can respect the other player's arguments, opinions and sometimes loss of patience, I feel that standing by this one and letting it pass is unacceptable. The accusations brought upon us were always backed up with arguments that, if I were in the other player's situation, it would have some sort of truth to them. This one however... not so much. Keep reading~

As you can clearly notice by reading the posted console notes by Von Posty, only two of the needed five votes were cast by [Fail] members and the console seems to have.. failed (no pun intended) to mention the reason of Von Posty's banishment which he claims is hacking. This does support Zeo's side of the story more then Von Posty would have wanted but like I said, I would like to pass my own judgment on how the exact situation happened and not on how both parties describe their side of the story, hence the request for the demo. It is the best evidence and thus the best way to analyze this situation, is it not?

Yup, I see that now. I am a moron after all! The smart words I used to seem smart and reasonable must have confused me more then I previously thought and thus this little misunderstanding came to be. But I shall not remove it because of the message it leaves in its paces. You understand what I'm getting at! Simply ignore my request for the demo but pay attention to the rest of the message, it is, and I really do hope, quite accurate to the situation.

Note the underlined bold text. Call me ignorant but are you actually an employee of Lotus? [Fail] was formed on EC lotus. Many of us, including myself have donated or are regular donors. If all 120 members of [Fail] were banned (lol) You'd probably be out of a job. Clearly not a great business mind, eh Mel?

While I completely agree with the "I just don't care to see another several page thread of two people flaming eachother" (should have been a space there), it seems to me that if you insist on replying to Zeo, this will in fact turn into a several paged thread consisting of two people flaming each other. I am not saying to just bend over/bow down but simply to.. drop the subject because as you can clearly tell, Zeo will keep defending herself because she has the right to and frankly, I would too in her situation.

You're slightly hostile approach is probably not the best way to deal with the situation. You'll have to forgive me but pointing out the obvious and being bluntly truthful is but one of my many flaws (and blessings in disguise). Now I may seem to be taking Zeo's side and that may be true but it is not because she is my clan leader but because you are trying to silence her when she is presenting her opinion and defense to the situation. Unless there is some sort of anti-free speech rule on this forum or you only judge by listening to one side of the story, I don't think this is fair. At all.

EDIT (forgot to add to the original message) : Also, if you are not in a position to help Zeo, does this mean that you are also not in a position to enforce rules/laws/codes of conducts on this forum? If that is the case, you're hostile approach is, like Zeo mentioned, considered as "trolling" and is slightly immature.
