Level 69 BP 2 #1 Posted August 29, 2010 This should complete the post below with 3 classes. From having yelled over the mic so much over the last few months to get my team into shape, here's my advice for pub teammates. :-) Medic - anywhere between 50-66% of a medic's benefit comes from the mayhem you cause during your uber or kritz. If you consistently die before getting the uber or kritz, you're only being half as useful as you could be to your team. Your number ONE priority is not to die. Ever. Even if it means letting us die. Under no condition should you die. - On offense, kritz is pretty cool, but only if you are the 3rd medic. Otherwise, we really need ubers to break through engineer nests when playing offense. - On defense, kritz or uber are both fine. Try to split it up 50/50 Snipers - the greatest snipers are those who carry jarate AND use it well. I know having a shield makes you spy-proof, but if you are good enough to avoid dying to spies AND can carry jarate, you are the biggest help to your team. Use that jarate on big groups pushing the cart or on control points. Pyro - the backburner has only a few, select uses and only in the trained hands of a professional. You really want to stick with the normal primary weapon with airblast. Airblast makes you SO much more useful: you can push back ubers, you can push strong enemies over the edge of a mountain to their death (think of Upward and Hightower) - If you're a god with the axtinguisher, fine, use the axtinguisher. Otherwise, you greatly increase your potential of being useful by using a homewrecker. You can save so much of your fellow engineer's stuff with a homewrecker once they've been stabbed by the spy you failed you catch. :-) - I know Pyro is technically in the "Offense" section of classes. But think about how great adefensive pyro can be: (1) Push back ubers, (2) spycheck engineer bases, (3) use homewrecker to unsap things. - if you set a spy on fire, it is your JOB you finish them off. The most heartbreaking thing to see is a dead-ringing enemy spy who is on fire coming back to stab two of your teammates before burning to death. Stay on them and burn them. Engineers - the mini sentry sucks for defense. It gets run over like a bulldozer running over a little puppy. Incidentally, mini sentries do approximately the same damage as the aforementioned puppy. - the NUMBER ONE thing you need to get up as an offensive engineer is NOT your mini sentry. It's a TELEPORTER. Please please please put up a teleporter first priority if you are on offense. If the team moves up, move up the teleporter first priority! Heavy - natascha has limited uses in CTF (where theres a ton of scouts) or if there's 4 heavies on the team (why?) maybe one can go natascha. Otherwise, Sasha is where it's at - use sandvich and feed your medic. it heals for half of their health Right mouse click when you have sandvich out to drop it. Demoman - the chargin' targe and eyelander only if you're playing around.. sticky placement in tight maps is one of the reasons people consider the demoman class overpowered Scout - great scouts are great only great hands, sadly not in yours. Don't use on defense unless you represent the select few who are amazing at scout. Soldier - I'm not sure if you're aware, but the equalizer was nerfed a while back. It doesn't suck now, but stop coming at me with your equalizer when I'm a heavy and have a medic healing me. It only tickles.

jeffro53081 1 #3 Posted August 29, 2010 Oh good, another one. I like these threads. Heavy - natascha has limited uses Ah, no. Natascha is op verses anything but a sasha heavy.

Rolooooooooo 2 #5 Posted August 29, 2010 alright now we can talk not shout at each other! couple thing to add make sure to add details for each class usaga per map. Fastlane, thunder mountains, coldfront, goldrush, dustbowl, are all maps scouts, heavies, snipers, spies can be useful depending on certain circumstances. People can be amazing with heavy, on coldfront, no sentries, using natasha only, no medic help or ubers, sandwich, no sniper or spy killing only him, and enemy team is mostly pyro, demo, and scouts. in a 10 vs 10. On the last thread the guy forgot to go into detail of how each class can be useful or not useful for each different map under certain conditions. ( 16 vs 16, types of weapons each class was using, ) p.s. I miss tf2 but super street fighter 4 is too addicting!
Victoreem the V of doom 30 #6 Posted August 29, 2010 This is probably Usuck testing the rage levels of a similar thread under a different name. *grabs popcorn*

kuttlewug 28 #8 Posted August 30, 2010 Snipers I know having a shield makes you spy-proof. That I must disagree with. SPy still has a gun you know. Good points all around though. What button do I press to shoot? F10
Oww My Nose 19 #9 Posted August 30, 2010 Ah, no. Natascha is op verses anything but a sasha heavy. That's very true, me with Natascha is much better than me with Sacha
You suck and have no life 203 #10 Posted August 30, 2010 If you have potential of being good at tf2, then you should be capable of doing google search. All this stuff have been posted hundreds of times elsewhere.
Apollo Justice 0 #11 Posted August 30, 2010 The whole point of natasha is to kill scouts, and to help heavies who can't aim too well. Sasha will kill them just as well if you can hit them, and won't do 3 dmg per bullet at ranges outside 10 ft.
Oww My Nose 19 #12 Posted August 30, 2010 The whole point of Natasha is to slow people down (oh, and piss everyone off) no matter the distance. If paired with people who can aim at slowly moving targets, a lot of people die
Victoreem the V of doom 30 #13 Posted August 30, 2010 A heavy with Natasha in a good spot can cause a lot of problems for a team trying to advance or retreat. That minor slowdown makes you an easy target for other people who cant aim.
Brokkoly 11 #14 Posted August 31, 2010 This thread is at least better than the other one, but still, it generalizes too much, because a sniper carrying the smg can also do some damage, and medic is not about leaving your teammates to die, but that doesn't mean running away like a coward.
kuttlewug 28 #15 Posted August 31, 2010 This thread is at least better than the other one, but still, it generalizes too much, because a sniper carrying the smg can also do some damage, and medic is not about leaving your teammates to die, but that doesn't mean running away like a coward. I hardly ever use Jarate because honestly I find the smg too handy and valuable to not use. Jarate is good very rarely though IMO. Sure you can splash a bunch of guys pushing the cart but do I really want to risk my neck to do that? Or do I want to keep my distance and head shot the more important classes(heavy's, medics especially). I hardly advice getting that close as a sniper to begin with. Jarate is too passive for me. I'm not doing any direct damage with it. I can only hope someone else more powerful comes along and kills them OR this player is very low on health and I can kill them with one un-zoomed shot. No time to use the scope if they're that close to pose a threat and you use Jarate. As for the smg I can't tell you how many times that little gun has saved my skin, from spys in particular. If it's quite enough where I am I can usually hear the spy uncloak(a lot don't seem very bright. Uncloak two feet away from me. I can hear that you know spys reading this!) So I spin around with my smg ready. If you have good aim, which playing sniper I HOPE you do it's a pretty easy kill with the smg against spys at least. SatansDankWeed 2 #16 Posted September 16, 2010 i like to throw piss over the cliff on steel defence at A, then run back into spawn and get more piss. if you do this enough you will get MVP like me!

I like to air blast people off of cliffs . They should award special tunics in-game for mischevious or funny deeds, such as throwing people off of cliffs 500 times! Machine That Goes Bonk 0 #18 Posted September 18, 2010 I abuse the hell out of jarate. Blind corner? Jarate. Spy sound? Jarate. See a spy off in the distance that cloaked? Aim where he's headed and jarate. Just use a parabolic arc and you don't need to get too close to use it. It's great to put medics and other teammates out with which helps your survivability. It's also a lot better for finding cloaked spies. Jarate + the new melee weapon whose name I cannot recall at the moment has helped me kill many a spy. Pyros, if you have airblast, for god's sake put your teammates who are on fire out.
