Radio Enabled On All Lotus Servers

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I have added radio support to our servers. This should take effect next map.

To enable radio type in: radio, start or radioon. Alternatively, type sm_radio in console (useful for binding to a key).

To stop radio type in stop or radiooff. Alternatively, type sm_stop in console.

Questions, comments?

There had BETTER be a 24/7 Ska + Punk or Smooth Jazz station, or its your head!

I've never understood why people don't have iTunes (or winamp/VLC/whatever if your computer can't handle iTunes and TF2 at the same time) running in the background.

I like it, pretty cool Mana. Did you know that if you leave the server without turning it off, it still plays? And wtf is up with the UFC MOTD?!

I usually have my Zune software too, but my multimedia keyboard always makes me taunt when i change songs.

Exactly my thought. Same reason I don't listen to real radios, I prefer listening to my own playlists.

Oh, that would be annoying, but you can set up global hotkeys in winamp, so you could do shift+whatever to do whatever you wanted

When I do listen to music in game, which isn't often, I just setup foobar with global hotkeys and bind stop/play/etc to the numpad.

I'm on OS X... so its a breeze having itunes running in the background and using the hotkeys to change song. Or alt-tabbing out of tf2 to change songs.

Mana - Not sure how savvy you are with the technical side of this, but do you know what the radio system uses to connect to stations? Just because I'm in the process of setting up an icecast internet radio station and would be interested to see if thats the sort of thing that is compatible with tf2....

EDIT: my flatmate was away for a while so I pinched his screen for dual monitors... Had itunes running on one screen and tf2 on the other. could also play a 1080p movie on the second screen...
