Dread 3 #1 Posted January 25, 2012 There's a hacker on the LotusClan | Arena! | Chicago (x33) server right now (1:11AM CST 1/25/12). He's speedhacking, autofire engy scripting, voice spamming music, and he's got a namechange script that cycles through everyone's names on the server. In the misguided attempt to ban him, the players on the server tried a kickban on him when he was using my name (The Evil Dread). Even though he swapped names to someone else about 5 seconds BEFORE THE BAN EVEN STARTED, the knuckleheads proceeded to kickban me (an innocent bystander), as the miscreant had already switched to someone else. The kickban mechanism needs to operate via SteamID or something, as this is obviously an easy way to avoid a kick. Unfortunately the console logs won't show his name swap, but the server logs likely will. JMaster299 654 #2 Posted January 25, 2012 All vote kick/ban plug-ins operate via player name as far as I know so it's not as if it can be changed. Also as far as I know no one from Lotus writes or creates any pliug-ins and the servers just use the standard plug-ins that are available to any server owner. It's annoying to be sure when you run into something like this but that's one reason vote bans are temporary, to prevent inoccent people being actually banned by players. You could help the entire Lotus server community by taking the necessary steps (demo, proper ban request, etc) to get the actual hacker banned. At least that way the hacker can actually get caught and perma banned from all Lotus servers. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

In addition, there is, I am sure of it, another thread explaining that you should NOT Make a new thread here if you were votekicked or votebanned, because it is infact only temporary. This to me looks like more of a ban request, than an unban request. You are allowed back onto the server after 30-45 minutes, as Proloser stated. However, Next time when the hacker is on the server, go to your console and type record, then status,. This records a demo, and with the status command gets their steam ID which the admins can use to ban him from Lotus servers. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
