Votekick/ban abuse, Text spam

"Text Spam" is something i didn't and probably won't do for quite some time in the future, being the lazy potato couch i am, and if any i'd like to see where or when did i Text Spam. I did not such thing.

For the Votekick/ban abuse, votes are there for a reason, i did not feel kicking people for micspamming or not playing the way other people want was in my interests or in common sense, i did find people taking excessive action against those people to be extremely rude and i expressed my vote in this sense.

Neither reasons i was banned for i can be found guilty of. I therefore request to be unbanned.

Votes are there for a reason, yes, to deal with those people that joined yesterday, those that are now banned.

So, you did not feel like votekicking the trolls and micspammers who, surprisingly, were your friends, but rather started kick and ban votes against those that tried to get rid of them? Not feeling like kicking micspammers or because it's of your interest to defend trolls does not make it the right thing. You have completely misused the vote system for bad purposes, while being aware of it.

Not buying this either. See the other unban request threads, we won't have people like you on Lotus. And might tell the others that if they come here attempting to bullshit themself through an unban request they won't get far.

So what you're saying is Votes are there to please the admins?

Micspamming is easily dealth with by a built-in feature of TF2, muting players' microphones. I have never understood why micspamming is bashed so harshly when it is so easily dealt with without intervention from anyone else.

But that aside, votes are to express one's willingness to take action against individuals via a democratic system, One of the players was being votebanned for micspamming, something i do not think requires a voteban, and expressed my negative vote to such kickban. This startled one of the other players, the one that started the voteban, that started insulting the micspammer, causing to me and to those who muted the micspammer a lot of grief, since it kept rambling about it, going over the line every now and then. This is the reason i decided to start a voteban against said person, also because he associated me with the group of players that were causing him grief via micspamming and text spamming, something that i did not do. My association with them is due to saving craft hats, nothing more, and for this reason i have a separate tab for them.

And again, votes are there to express a player willingness as a single entity to take action against another individual on the server, not to give admins a reason to ban people for "misusing" a democratic system.

Lastly, if having a little fun with hilarious antics such as pans and screenshooting a full team of spies is considered a bannable offense then i suppose the anti-AFK system should grant at the very least a week ban, it is just as disruptive in this sense.

Playing on Lotus servers is a privilege.

So is the right to use the vote system to put forth the exclusion of an individual from the server or to veto such exclusion at discretion of each individual on the server at the time of the vote without having to conform to one individual devoid of any material power on the server.

That's more or less what happened here, where one individual held a grudge against one of the players in the server for futile reasons that could be ignored if causing serious grief, something that did not happen (or in any case shouldn't have, you can decide yourself not to listen to microphones of individual players, it takes exactly 3 seconds), and people that did nothing against the rules [i suppose using the pan isn't against the rules, or it would have been banned already] also got banned with fake reasons or by simple association in friednlists.

Nobody ever said using the pan is against the rules, vote abuse is. This was not up for discussion.

Locked.
