i was joking, this seems like quite a bad problem and i would consider it disruptive gameplay...

talk to mana about it? Perhaps making some items like the heavy shirt unpaintable?

Normal items like a hat wouldn't be so bad i guess, often when i had a team spirit hat and was autobalanced it would retain the team spirit of my previous team - but now i has no hats it doesn't work any more
