Corvisia 774 #29 Posted May 7, 2013 Those 30. Just lol xDDDD Anyway, I'm with Se7en and Snowy this time. Even if there are more people who wanna be "friendly" we have to keep in mind what this game is about, so when a few disagree... The ones who aren't play properly are the friendly ones.
Barbaro 466 #30 Posted May 10, 2013 Just lol xDDDD Anyway, I'm with Se7en and Snowy this time. Even if there are more people who wanna be "friendly" we have to keep in mind what this game is about, so when a few disagree... The ones who aren't play properly are the friendly ones. ^This...and wanted to add... A lot of the servers are attached to QuickPlay, having that one free slot joined by some random, new, free to play new...with a FAN...starts to go around and blast Heavies that he sees, that are nomming sandviches, and then gets vote kicked...while that ONE person might seem insignificant at the time, you may never know that one person won't go and complain/do something that could cause noteworthy, regular players to stop joining it. If you want to have 'parties' and be a general dick, go on a Trade Server, that's what they're for. You'll only see gamers, who've played the game for a while, do this kind of griefing behavior, but that isn't what the game's about. If you want to jump like a kangaroo and make 'human pyramids' then feel free to do so...on Mana's Trade server or the Lotus West Coast, but not on a regular pub were it's going to be given traffic, that if their first experiance is bad, they won't ever come back. (A note on the Hightower fags, ignore them, I get sick of trying to push the cart up by myself, so I either end up bailing from my team, or start using manuvers that deny the enemy from killing my retarded team that they end up either scrambling the teams, or the retarded derps push the cart...and win, and restart. It's a fucking race, not a Team Deathmatch...which is what Call of Duty is for.)
Asjo 90 #31 Posted June 15, 2013 I'm playing 2Fort just now, and got livid a pussies camping inside their base for the umpteenth time, and I thought of this thread. So just had to add a comment. I was thinking about the "do what you have to do to win" comment, and thought I now had a good example of how that attitude can piss people off. I've always been defending 2Fort, highlighting it as a good map, but I'm starting to have enough (which is why people can hear me whining like an old man when they join the server ). I can see what people mean about the eternal stalemate on the map. When the skill level on a server is too low, one team can effectively pause the game by camping inside their base or on the bridge with at least three sentries. The sentry that covers the entrance to courtyard from top of straight is by far the most effective. Low-skill players just don't know how to take it out, and if I attempt myself, I can kill one of two sentries before I die, but when I come back, they are rebuilt. So, I waste my time fighting sentries. It seems that at the moment, the way to win 2Fort is to camp enough until the other team forgets about defending and you get a few cheat scout caps. So, yeah, if people want to do what they can to win, they can easily turn this beautiful map into a nightmare and a spamfest. I guess it happened a lot when I was starting out as well, but if the company is good enough anything can be exciting, and I think the server had a higher skill-level (perhaps before the exodus caused by the temporary 24-player limit), which meant that there would always be players to break the sentries. Either way ... just had to get it out. Been AFK a bit long, so better get back to it

Jabberwock 273 #34 Posted June 17, 2013 I like 2fort 'cause it's great to sit around and camp. That's what it's fort, after all.
Asjo 90 #35 Posted June 17, 2013 I like 2fort 'cause it's great to sit around and camp. That's what it's fort, after all. Yeah, and I don't really have any right to complain about it. After all, some mellow camping seems like a perfectly enjoyable way to play the game. You can hang out with the team, limit the combat that you have to engage in, and have some interesting fights while waiting to see what will happen. This will allow you to experience a different kind of success than the one I'm chasing when I try to kill everyone right away and make things as hard and challenging as I can, not stopping my forward run when the odds seem impossible. I'm sure I found it much more interesting to camp and spam opponent around a corner back when I started out playing. I guess my discontent is a mix of me being impatient and feeling that the game because a bit stale and repetitive unless you get that "good" action going. So, unless you have some good company on your team, just sitting around waiting for things to happen can seem like an empty experience, especially when you're a bit impatient like me. As Barbaro says, you enjoy the game much more if you can be oblivious to all of this and just "go with it". I'd still say that abuse like sticky-camping is a valid thing to frown at, since it can make it impossible for people to pass certain points. It might be a challenge for the opponents, but it's a dumb one. Whereas if one team goes mass sentries, that doesn't really stop anyone from using a few übers or a spy to own them and get the needed breakthrough. It will often end up in spawn-camping, but I guess if you're an annoying team of engineers, you don't really have the right to complain if people try to keep you from rebuilding them.
