I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it. It seems that I have been banned (I don't know if permanently or only for a few time) for calling someone "an idiot".

Well, the situation was that an spectator started a votekick because a player was not attacking the other team, only trolling a little, that's because I told him this word, because the guy was only having some fun.

Maybe I was rude, but I only can say that I want to play again in this server: I have never caused problems (I have never been votebanned or something), I have tons of friends here and I've been playing this game for more than 2400 hours, almost 90% of them in the Lotus Server. So I'm really sorry and I can only say that I will not say anything similar anymore.

The ban is a temporary one of 1 day. Darwin placed the ban, so I assume he felt he had reason to do so, and I expect staff would want his side of the story before making an unban decision. Regardless, its not a long ban by any means, so it will probably expire before an unban could be granted anyway.

Alright, so let's get this straight.

I am pretty much included into this thing so let me tell you this:

I called Darwin to come on the server over a civillian Heavy that thought it's funny to be useless and give enemies his sandvich.

to quote him:

"I'm friendly."

"Why I can't help both teams?"

Darwin called a voteban on him and people voted NO. So we went straight to get the people that supported his wrong behavior. (Yes, he actually got some blus to play along with that)

Then at some point, Duff decided it would be a good idea to call Darwin an idiot because he tried to get the Heavy off the server, since he was not playing the game.

To quote Darwin as well (I hope I still have it in mind correctly):

"Congratulations Duff, by calling a Lotus Member an idiot you got yourself a free day off our servers"

Anyway... Duff, it's not important if that Heavy looked like no problem for you. He was a problem, he ignored me when I told him to cut it out AND he ignored Darwin's order to stop it. We don't appreciate Civillians as they are not playing the game and thus a waste of a server spot and a team spot. As Darwin said, it's an Ego Shooter. Not Ego Friendliness.

If he wants to be useless, He can go to any trade server and get himself nailed by Machina Snipers if he likes that so much. But please not on a server where we actually play the game.

The heavy wasn't playing as civillian, but it's ok (I was spec too and he was only trolling, giving the sandvich to the other team and not attacking them). And he probably thought: why should I do what Darwin want? We didn't know if he was an admin or not, I saw that Darwin was only a spec more like me.

So, I had bad luck and because he couldn't ban him when he tried a votekick, he banned me. Because if I can report all the people that say idiot or even worse things to other people to ban them during one day, I promise you that the server could be empty almost all the time. But thanks for the comment.

Call anybody you want an idiot, but not our members, recruits, and ESPECIALLY our admins. He was administrating the server, and was removing a disruptive player. Your judgement on that issue is not relevant. All of our admins went through due process to get where they are, and it doesn't sound like Darwin did anything wrong. 1 Day time-out ban because you called him an idiot, you could have gotten longer for admin disrespect, he was lenient, and if you want to save face, you should probably thank him for that, and apologize. We enjoy all of our loyal players, but there is an expected level of respect for our members and admins. Hope to see you back playing soon!,

I think you and I have different sights about civilians. I am not talking about civilian mode where you are without weapons. I am talking about being a civilian in general, in case you know what a civilian is. A non-military/friendly person.

And that's not a kind of a person reliable for an ego shooter.

And as Darwin wears the L | Tag on a Lotus server, it's not much of a big deal to realize that L | actually stands for Lotus.

Except for that, even if Darwin would be a random person, he is right, and not the Heavy. generally, if you don't play the game and someone tells you to stop that, you should actually stop. And not keep doing it out of protest. it's Anti-gameplay and there is no reason to protest against someone following the right path.

Judging by time, your ban should have expired by now. We usually don't deal with people that hold a grudge against justified votekicks. All your oppinions shall be yours and we won't take them. But please not insultive towards that person.

Since you understand that calling him an idiot was not ok, I won't continue this any further. I stated my point, whether you agree with it or not is up to you

I don't like people telling me that I'm an idiot.

Basically, someone on the server (forgot the name) was being a dick to me and the rest of the people and refused to play, which I verified by going to spectator - and being only one there. Last time I checked, we kicked AFK people, but since I wasn't an admin there I started a votekick (which failed due to people being ignorant), when Duff proclaimed "what an idiot spectator" - I would upload the screenshot but I'm not on my computer atm - so I gave him some time to think about it.

If there's something I don't like, then that's people telling me, or ANYONE ELSE, that they are idiots, retarded or something third, especially if those people are members of the clan. I'm sorry if I'm turning out egoistic or something - I would've pulled out the banhammer if the guy told anyone else that they are idiots when they are just trying to make the game more enjoyable (i.e. having people actually PLAY the game) for everyone.

The ban has expired by now.

Oh, also, Duff, I'm sure you're an amazing guy and nice to hang out with and I'm sorry I had to do this, however there are some rules we are all bound to follow.

As I said, I'm sure you're a nice guy and I hope you stay around here. And I hope that you understand why I did this, and that such things won't happen again <3 I admit that I could've probably handled this a bit better.
