Gohthecrow, surviving is easy. Anyone can survive. What we've been talking about in this thread is how to kill a demoknight as pyro.

Obvious, should that succeed, you've burned the demo of one of the ten seconds that you need to burn him to kill him with the Degreaser. Well on your way ...

Trying to sidestep a charging demo instead of airblasting him away sounds like suicide to me. It's not like the demo cannot turn at all during the charge, and 50% added melee range makes dodging a bit harder.

Backburn means Backburner. Crits in your behind usually does the trick.

I never said it was easy, nor that it was without risk. We were talking about options, but a bullet proof way.

All in all, i just prefer to needle them to death anyway...

I have to point out that what we were talking about in this thread is problems killing them using the normal Degreaser combo (with which you can "backburn", you just won't get crits). No reason to switch to Backburner

I'm not saying it was supposed to be easy. The option that you point out just requires for the demoknight to be fully asleep. Any half-decent demoknight would at least hit at you, even if they miss, which interrupts their charge, meaning that they won't expose their back to you.

Next time a meet a demoknight with Chargin' Targe, I'll cry for a medic to come save me with lethal acupuncture

Laugh if you want to, but i got 3 kills on charging demoknights like that yesterday. Most of them think they're invincible, now...

I refuse to use shooty just because of some m1w demoknight.

Flare gun is the best weapon for me and don´t want to change it.

Killing those noobs without shooty is very VERY hard!

I tired just burning him, spent whole ammo and he was still alive. Needless to say I had to dodge that fecker at the same time. Removing afterburn and giving 50% fire resistance is ummm well, idiotic, retarded...

a charging demo can be sidestepped easily if you time it right, then go to town on him from behind - they may have fire resistance but they don't have melee resistance - enter the powerjack
