Strange Issue/bug On Both 2Fort 24/7 Uk Servers - Please Help!

I've been having this issue/bug with ONLY lotus UK servers, namely these two:-

The bug/issue description:-

When I'm playing Sniper, ANY item i equip in my back won't work as intended. Let me explain it a bit more, for example, when i equip "The Razorback" item on my sniper, i can still get stabbed by a Spy, even though the item is CLEARLY being used by my sniper...
Another easier example is, when using my other Sniper back item, "Darwin's Danger Shield", it should add +25 HP to my Sniper ...Right?
WRONG!

For some reason, this bug ONLY happen on these two "United Kingdom" servers. Every other server is normal, and i can use my sniper load-out correctly...

I attached some pictures i took on booth servers in question, using Darwin's Danger Shield as an Example, as you can see, the +25 HP is NOT added to my Sniper... I've already talked to an admin on these servers many times, but they couldn't help me & was asked to post here for more help! D:

Ohh boy...

Just found out that that this issue ALSO happens when i play a Demoman while using "The Bootlegger", which should add +25HP to my demo to become 200HP in total, but the bonus isn't being added to my demo! D:

This is really weird... It seems to me that this issue happens on ALL items that BOOST +HP, right?

Is this just happening to you or have other people complained about it too? If it's server based (which it seems to be considering your post) I don't think there's all that much we can do about it since Mana's on vacation.

Try connecting to a non-UK Lotus server, see if you get the same problem. At least that then might isolate it down to one server. My bad, I should learn to read. That said, no-one else has come to us with a similar problem, so I think its on your end.

One thing that might help, try verifying integrity of game cache (if you haven't already done so). Always worth trying.

I'm at a loss for this one. That server should have the exact same setup as every other server. Also, it doesn't seem to be doing it to anyone except you (I tried and it didn't do it for me and I've not heard others with this same concern). In lieu of Mana's vast knowledge, I'm going to take a stab and say all the evidence points to this being a client issue, not our server. I've exhausted my google-fu and haven't been able to come up with anyone else with the same problem either.

If possum's suggestion of verifying the game cache doesn't work, try uninstalling tf2 and reinstalling. In theory that should fix it if it's client side. If you are using a special/custom hud, make sure that you don't reinstall it until after you've connected with a fresh reinstall to see if the bug persists.

It could happen that, if you do, or if you did games that required you to have an item whitelist (lobbies, etc.), Darwin's Danger Shield was disabled in it and it somehow got mixed up with your base TF2 installation. Yea true, i tried searching Google as well with people who've experienced similar issues, but couldn't find anyone.

I don't think i have any file by that name in my tf2 folder, the only file that i was able to find which looked similar is this file: "item_whitelist_example", not sure if i should delete this thing or what?

From the looks of it, it seems like the server plugin hates you in particular. Mana will be away for a few weeks unfortunately. I'll do some tests tonight to see if it affects only you.

p.s When doing your testing, please do them on the same servers i posted, and also include the demoman item, "The Bootlegger", in your testing as well. As i said in my last post, this issue seems to affect ANY item wore on the back & ANY item that BOOSTS +HP as well...

I had a recent issue where my White Bills was not showing on my model and random hats of random colours would display...a reinstall fixed it so it was probably a cache issue or corrupt game file issue....Steam Support recommended the reinstall.

Sadly, uninstalling the game didn't help me.

Question, If i wanted to post this issue on steam forums to ask for help, is there a special one i should do it on? or just regular steam tf2 forums you think?

Well i just received a reply from Steam support after i told them about my issue. They gave me a bunch of options that didn't work.

They said that this issue is probably caused by the servers in question, since it only happens to me on those 2 servers above.

I seem to have the same problems with a multitude of items on pretty much every Lotus server. Gunboats, Razorback, Wee Booties do not work for me at all.

I'm on my phone so I can't go through the entire history of this thread. So does it happen on all Lotus servers or just on certain ones?

If it doesn't affect all servers then it's likely something minor and can be fixed before I get back home.

If it does affect all, then I can also do a quick test and see if that fixes it. Then I would do a permanent fix later.

Good. That piece of shit should be torn, burnt, ripped, blown up, smashed and nuked til there's nothing left. If I get a headshot; you as a sniper should be dead. Fair no?

Probably what happened was that one of the updates changed something in how the items work. And because I am away I wasn't able to look into that.

So I disabled (pending server restart) the item plugin. You won't be able to color/give effects to your items but it should stop these issues.

Let's see if that was the case.
