I think it's going to benefit traders quite a bit, but I fear that the masses will still complain. Claims to 'hit' a border: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/864979455390821081#c864979455423136286 Which is hilarious when I think about it, 15 days to ensure your account is in your hands, is a very small price to pay. I never had my account hijacked but clearly, this person is too selfish to understand that the risk is always there. Thoughts on round 2?
-MW- 5 #2 Posted September 21, 2013 I didn't read the article, but I did scim your post, so I consider myself an expert. Would this have any effect on items purchased in store? I bought some keys and they weren't tradeable for a week. Now I bought some more and I can trade them instantly. From one expert to another: Why am those things?

So instead of opening the link and reading it, word for mouth, from a Steam Employee, you'll take my word? And call yourself an Expert. Wow. No wonder Valve is having a hard time implementing changes to security. No, items purchased from the Store, Mann Co, DOTA 2, or any In-Game Store or store oriented to the game, *Not including the Market*, has a time lock before you can trade items. You can bypass this by meeting the requirements, it is well worth the investment. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Item_Trade#Purchased_Items This only hinders your ability to trade with anyone, period. If you load yourself onto a new, unrecognized device, Steam Guard will disable Trading for you for fifteen *15* days. If you read the earlier article, you'd have seen how this had a 'different' outcome, where there are some people who are so addicted to trading, they cannot survive 15 days. SteamRep's DataStorm brought up an interesting theory, which you can view here. Being Careful is not Enough Even with this new feature in place, I fear we will not see an end to the hijackings, before you know it, users will find ways to spoof the system. I can easily bypass the Steam Guard on most accounts users have, but being unable to trade is what will defiantly deter it. Because you most likely haven't moved your computer or needed to bother the steamguard thing. yes. Mike, Mann Co is independent from the Steam Guard update. The time lock on items before they're able to be traded, is dependent on your account history. Steam Guard kicks in when you load into an unrecognized device. He can continue using the same devices, but the time lock will continue to be added until he meets the requirement, that I linked above. It's in place to prevent fraud.
