What happened to the lotusclan french server?

It always used to be full. Always. and now you're lucky to have a team of 5. Wtf happend? I used to play that all the time and now it's dead. The UK server is getting the same problem, I see it more empty than active. What's happening?

It's always full for me. I have yet to see the UK 2Fort server completely empty. If anything the UK servers have grown. For the French server idk. I've never played on one.

mostly to do with the quickplay update, being the default to search for valve servers, you will find regular people on 2fort servers though

It's the changes valve made to quickplay.

 

First they made it so valve servers are the default quickplay option (and the only way to get into community servers is to click on that tiny gear icon).

And then they increased the amount of servers they have. Last I checked valve had over 1500 servers. Couple that with the quickplay changes and thats a ton of default servers for players.

Servers that tend to lag, aren't really maintained and have absolutely no admins ever.

 

We're at a huge disadvantage now. The community servers helped make the game but we're no longer important...

 

Maybe they will do something about it and make it more fair in the future. Maybe they will get bored of running so many servers.

Maybe they will make the advanced quickplay options easier to see.

 

But for now this is "normal" .

I've used quickplay a couple times after the update (mainly early in the morning when no one is on) and I actually never saw the advanced option menu. I searched for it and didn't find it. It must be tiny if it's that hard to find.

No quickplay support for servers over 24 slots

No quickplay support for server with custom maps

No quickplay support for community servers

Empty servers can be filled by going onto the server and spamming invites...proven legit on HighTower

O.o why close it? The only thing wrong with the x33 server from some of the regulars point of view is the fast respawn.

Fast respawn is fun if you want to rack up a ton of kills / points, but it makes completing the objective MUCH much harder. On Dustbowl with instant, sure you can get 300x times the kills (which is definitely fun) but its nearly impossible to get past the first map. The only way to do it is to hope for a backcap or get really organized with like 5 ubers.

You do get occasional times when there are 3 or 4 rocket jumpers on Hightower...not often you get more than a couple of demo knights...it's a team death match more than it is PLR though which is why I think people like it.

I like it because it's a map to hang around. Just like harvest. But if I'd be looking for a server to enjoy actual tf2, hightower is the Last map I'd choose.
