It seems like early Sunday is our best bet for getting everyone together. Same time if possible. I've been reading and filling my head full of D&D related things everyday, so prepare for awesome. We'll be able to start right away because we already sorted out the technical stuff and how combat works. As long as we stay focused you'll all come out of next session around 3rd level.

 

Please continue to think about your characters. Having defined goals and a well developed personality will make the experience better for everyone.

 

Does anyone have a way to record our sessions? Fever mentioned that he'd be interested in listening to our story, and I have to admit that it might be a good resource to have.

hmmm I've got fraps, not sure if that's good for recording. I mainly use it to ahem record parts of Mass Effect

I can upload it to youtube, but my internet sucks. Depending on the size it can take ages.

You'd need a lot of hd space for fraps for that long.

You are probably looking at 80-100gb of raw video.

Yeah was thinking that too. I remember testing for a minute or two in game. "Oh look... 2GB"

Or the accidental "My dota crashed. C drive full? What's this big chunk of 500GB OMFG.... I taped the entire dota session by accident FUUU"

Ironbeard is currently passed out... stay tuned...

 

Update: Eala valiantly stabs the offending goblin in the back, but takes a slash across the chest from an orc, almost felling her...

 

Update 2: Callyn Riith runs in to administer a potion to Ironbeard, reviving him to full health.  Obvious and Tal, enraged, strike back at the attackers, narrowly missing.  Tal spits at the orc as he readies another swing.

 

Update 3.  The wind causes the spit to hit Tal in the face and and his swing misses wildly, almost hitting ironbeard.  The orc swings back and connects in the chest, opening a large gash that begins to bleed everywhere.

Update 4: Another goblin takes a shot at Obvious, and it flies by his head, nearly nicking his ear.  Another goblin swings his sword and stabs Tal in the side, bringing him to his knees, blood everywhere.  Obvious, absolutely incensed swings wildly at the orc, missing yet again.  The elf taunts Ironbeard "This is how it's done!"  Taking aim at the goblin attacking Tal, she strikes him in the shoulder, causing it to stagger. 

 

Update 5: Backing up with his shield up for defense Tal reaches into his backpack and downs his healing potion - regaining his health and feeling immediately refreshed.

The orc attacks Ironbeard, missing.  The goblin rushes forward and stabs Tal with his dagger, tis but a flesh wound.  Meanwhile Eala runs behind the archer goblin that's been taking pot shots and tries to stab him in the back, he lets out a squeal and jumps out of the way, feeling the WHOOSH of the dagger that almost connected with his back.  He goes to pull out his sword, leaving his guard down.  Eala takes the opportunity to stab, and almost cuts herself but does get in a scratch.

 

Update 6: The goblin strikes back and misses.  Ironbeard dodges out of the way of the orc and prepares to smash his face in.  He connects, and a bits of brain splatter across Tal. Callyn pulls back the string of the bow and cockily takes a shot at the orc, despite being only feet away, her arrow grazes his hair.  Eala takes another stab, missing.  Tal rages, and takes aim at the nearest orc, slicing him in twain.  He then picks up the heart, making eye contact with the other orc.  He squeezes it, causing it to explode, blood covering his face. He licks his lips and spits in the orcs direction.  The orc turns his attention back to Ironbeard and takes a swing which glances off of his shield.  Taking a swing back, he almost connects, but the orc parries the blow, winded but in tact.

 

Update 7: Lynn draws back her bow, and her grip slips.  Still holding the arrow the bow hits her in the face, almost breaking her own nose.  Callyn aims with his crossbow at the remaining orc, hitting him through the eye.  He falls to the ground.  Dead.  Eala takes careful aim at the goblin who is trying to jump around - and the goblin jumps directly into her dagger. 

 

Breathing heavily, the group re-convenes to lick their wounds.

I wasn't logging the battle then .  If people like this I may keep a battle log in the future as well.
