fever 9,884 #8 Posted October 13, 2014 Can't wait for the first nub to try this with his cheap 300 bucks walmart mountain bike.So annoying when you see dad dragging his young son along red and black trails because he wants to ride it but he has to ride it with his son rather than his mates. The little one is totally out of his depth and struggles so you end up queuing on trails, plus he's clearly going to hurt himself if he falls and the regularly do. When they opened the Altura trail at Whinlatter near where my mum lives the air ambulance was up there every day on the first week.People don't understand their limits. They watch videos and buy some body armour and think they're invincible.

That's the biggest issue with these people. We're collecting people from the mountains regularly because of that. Dragging their kids into a mountain of 3000m, then nag at their kids when they can't do, any finally endanger themselves and their kids because they have to carry them back.
fever 9,884 #10 Posted October 13, 2014 Yeah, if you're going there with your kid, you're going there to spend time with your kid, not to do a trail. That's the biggest issue with these people. We're collecting people from the mountains regularly because of that. Dragging their kids into a mountain of 3000m, then nag at their kids when they can't do, any finally endanger themselves and their kids because they have to carry them back. Exactly. The best bit about the young bullet proof heros with their friends is that their bikes are downhill bikes and far too op and heavy for the trails they're riding which have hills (who would have thought there would be hills -.-) so on any fire road climbs I can blast past them as my bike is about 5 kilos lighter, plus I'm not wearing all that pointless armour. You don't need armour if you know your limits and can control your bike (I'm talking about 95% of UK trails here, obviously there are some extreme double blacks). It's the people that don't that then get hurt, then they start taking out technical sections on trails because they're "too dangerous". They're not too dangerous. The problem is that the majority of the time the people who get hurt don'the give the section or trail enough thought/respect and crash on...quite literally xD
