fever 9,884 #1 Posted October 24, 2014 Thinking about buying The Evil Within (not The Enemy Within, thanks Sexy), it's pretty expensive so wondered if anyone else is planning on getting it, what the devs previous games were like etc. I also noticed it's a 50GB install!? ultr@BUNNY 8,565 #4 Posted October 24, 2014 I'm sorry, I'm not into Star Trek... But if you mean the The Evil Within, yes, it's worth it, the game was directed by Shinji Mikami the creator of Resident Evil.
No longer a Sexy King:^) 5,592 #5 Posted October 24, 2014 Looks really buggy on the PC and an extremely frustrating game. The kind of game i rather watch being played, than playing myself. But that's just me. Take bunny's word more serious than mine since he has the game for the PS4.
ultr@BUNNY 8,565 #6 Posted October 24, 2014 From what I could seen from the PC port of the game, they really really fucked it up there, the frame rate can be horrid at times, for the next gen consoles versions, in my case the PS4, the game runs smooth as butter, never had a drop in the frame rate, at least for me. When it comes to gameplay The Evil Within is basically the incarnation of Resident Evil 4, so if you like survival horror and don't mind the challenge, you will love the game.

Canti 386 #8 Posted October 25, 2014 You need to use console commands just to unlock the framerate from 30 xD It also has a really weird aspect ratio, they're calling it a cinematic effect, when in reality it's because it's a console port and the console versions can't run it at 1080p. I wouldn't support this sort of game

I wouldn't support this sort of game Because everything has to be 1080p and 60fps. Typical PC elitist.
ultr@BUNNY 8,565 #11 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) You need to use console commands just to unlock the framerate from 30 xD It also has a really weird aspect ratio, they're calling it a cinematic effect, when in reality it's because it's a console port and the console versions can't run it at 1080p. I wouldn't support this sort of game I'm sorry but your argument is invalid, the frame rate is locked at 30fps because the game was not build with 60 in mind, so if you unlock the frames you asked for lag in the 1st place, it comes down to the optimization from the consoles to the PC, it's obvious that the PC version is a port, the game is optimized with next gen consoles in mind, that's why you also get lag in the old gen (ps3/ xbox360). Also the game is actually 1080p in the consoles (PS4 to be exact), 720p in the old gen consoles, and 900p in the Xbox One. And the letterbox? Please check the original Resident Evil 4 in the GameCube and who is the director for both games. If you want to complain, please mention the texture loadings instead.
