Not really a ban...

I was on the Jersey Turbine server and these two admins came on. After a bit, one silenced me for just saying there was a Spy by doing the voice command and saying that through the mic (like a soundboard but on the computer you're playing the game on). The admin threatened to ban me after I was trying to get his attention and the other one was on said he could do nothing.

The "other" admin would be me, and yes, I can't do anything if another admin silenced you, I can't intervene in their actions.

I was the one to place the silence. as the reporting player "DJ PON-3" was Rancho Relaxo-ing most of his time on server and spamming voice commands. Not normally a big deal, however, in this instance he was relaying the voice commands through his mic as well. Hearing him in-game and then through his mic got old, fast. The ban threaten was issued after he went Scout. frying pan, and followed me around hitting me with it. Y'know, for the sound. My exact words over voice chat were "Stop harassing me or I'll kick and temp ban you"

 

As a point of note, this isn't my first run-in with this player. He's normally on a 2fort server doing troll things. He just happened to be on Turbine with Tsunami and myself that night.

I'd like to add that yesterday when I joined the server at night that was the first thing he said to me. That was after he posted this topic complaining about getting silenced.

I am surprised he's not banned yet. If he doesn't get banned by Arakvar he will get banned by me.

Gets my vote. I don't see him bringing anything to our servers we can't afford to lose.

So I did check this out and I see nothing wrong with the action taken against you. Everyone on the Lotus servers are there to have a good time, not to be griefed by a panhandling scout. I count this among griefing since this takes away the gameplay. Pretty much the same as a pyro putting his flames in front of a sniper's scope.

 

Now I can attribute the way you behave seeing you're still young (if you didn't lie about age that is). So I'm going to impart a piece of wisdom, no need to listen. Be respectful and mindful to everyone you meet, that includes people in real life as online. This may seem "cool" now, but honestly, it makes you look like an idiot to the rest of us. Our admins are not out to get you, but to keep our servers a friendly and nice place to play. Behave and you'll get along fine. If not, I will fully support a ban for whatever length of time.

It sounds like, by your own admission and chat logs, you were griefing and being obnoxious, and rather than absorb and reflect on the feedback you got from other players and the admins, you thought you'd drop by to try your luck at the old "admin abuse" pitch?  You need new hobbies.  I'm not here to weigh in on the decision, but I wanted to show my support for my fellow admins and staff on this, to show you that literally nobody sympathizes with your behavior.  Skaila is the most sympathetic person you will meet, and even she has shown no pity for you.  Take that as a hint that maybe it's not everyone else who needs the adjustment.
