The only concern I have is that modders are pulling their mods from Steam and soon everywhere else. Why not? Someone else may come in and sell it for a profit anyway.

Companies exist solely to take your money. Don't believe it? Name one position created in a company that doesn't make/save money... It doesn't exist.

I don't get why people get surprised when a company does exactly what it was designed to do.

If you are looking for ethical options try something where it's sole purpose isn't to increase profit.

They'll reverse the change if it ends up costing them more than it makes over the long run. Otherwise it's here to stay... Unfortunately, our opinions don't really have an effect on the outcome.

You vote with your dollar. Some of the mods out there are truly fantastic and a lot of love and work has gone into them. People who produce quality works should be paid for their efforts.

Don't get me wrong, some mods I'd be willing to pay, but I want to pay the modder or some site like Nexus.

Where it is optional, not forced. This is a hobby after all.

Valve just backtracked and cancelled. No more pay for mods on the Steam workshop (for Skyrim).

People are still modding Oblivion. I've played a few mods that I would have paid for had I known how amazing they were going to be! Also, Oblivion is still better than Skyrim.
