Well you'll need some video capture software first of all.. Fraps is ok but with the trial version max recording time is 30 secs, which isn't a problem if you don't mind stitching together multiple movie files in Windows Movie Maker.

When you have recorded a video, go to the program which is included with Windows XP/Vista ' Windows Movie Maker ', look for some tutorials on the internet if you don't know how to use it. It's quite simple to use so I figured it out for myself. When you have finished editing your video in WMM, you have to Publish it from the 'File' menu at the top left of the WMM window to get the finished video file.

With YouTube you'll have to register an account to upload videos. Once you have done that it's very simple to upload a video, just click on the big upload button.
