Out with selfie sticks, in with Google Glass!

Recommended Posts

So Disney finally got rid of this annoyance:

Nothing was more obnoxious on vacation than sitting behind a couple of twats on a roller coaster, unable to see anything but their stupid faces in a selfie stick outstretched in the middle of my field of view.  It's about damn time.  If you're one of those people who feels compelled to document every single thing you do on vacation, here's my suggestion: Buy a Google Glass. I find it to be far more useful in theme parks while being less intrusive to other guests.  No bright glowing phone to hold up on dark boat rides, blinding everyone behind you.  No phone to hold out in front of everyone next to you on the safari rides.  No selfie stick jutting out in front of everyone behind you on roller coasters. Oh, and it's nice to get park map navigation streamed directly to your eye instead of walking into a fountain while staring down at your phone map. Behold, my Expedition Everest adventure through Glass:

Side note, if you buy a Glass, the black version with sunglass lenses is far less conspicuous and will draw fewer questions from gawkers:

Problem is

Phone = most people got one these days

Selfie stick = pretty cheap maybe 10€? dunno

Google classes = even released yet?

It's a fucking trend. When I'm having dinner with my friends I have to wait like a minute because everyone needs to take a picture of our food..

Totally agree, taking pictures or videos of everything is stupid. Just enjoy the moments and the even greater memories you'll have without seeing everything through a phone.

The boring, weak, and useless, constantly try to validate their worthless existence with documentation. They will all die and be forgotten along with their untalented "celebrities".

Selfie sticks should be snapped in two

Problem solved

Honestly, it's a selfish stick, people only care how they look and their enjoyment even if it means ruining someone else's

If you're worried about how you look, if you're getting the best shot, looking at a tv screen when you're out and about then you're probably missing the moment.  If you ever start snapping mobile phones in two you can start with mine :)

The only time I actively take pics is at a convention, and even then I'm usually to busy at looking for stuff to buy or admiring the costumes (or lack thereof at times)

Taking pictures makes me feel self-concious most of the times, but I'm weird that way

So I spent last night at Magic Kingdom and rode every major ride, and I have to say, MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT with all the selfie sticks gone! You can now actually see all the rides and shows again :D
