Login through Steam/Twitter/Facebook

Good news everyone!

New (and existing) users can now once again login through Steam, Twitter and Facebook.

Furthermore the websiteforum will now be slower! This is actually part of the good news. You shouldn't be experiencing any slowness unless you try to login through Steam. Then all bets are off. Why? You may ask. Well Because valve.

But once Steam permits you to login everything will be as fast as usual.

Did the forum itself get an update as well? I'm accessing it through Chrome and noticed the text is much finer and sharper than before.

Nope, you are both crazy.

I didn't make any intentional changes though.

Yeah I had temporary thiner fonts quite a few times before.

I'm not complaining whatsoever. The new, thinner font is more pleasing and easy to the eye.

Perhaps you instilled some sort of 'font spell' that only JB and I notice.

I've got it as well.

Your per site preferences were reset. So if you had used zoom previously it was back to normal.

But no actual style changes have been made :P

You made me feel as smart as a jar of mayonnaise. Thanks Mana. ;D

No... I mean the website URL sort of "changed" (slightly). Which could make this appear as a new site to your browser. For example my browser thinks I first visited the forums on July 5, 2015. And that's obviously not the case :P.

This being a "new" website would reset your zoom preferences (and possibly a few other things). Making it appear as though there were style changes while in reality you made some clientside changes before :P.

I thought the fonts were different also, and I did try zooming and out to see if I recognised it. I had a problem earlier where the notifications and emails tab at the top wouldn't open (it would just constantly show that it was loading), but that (sort of) went away when I loaded a different forum page.

Not sure if related but I struggle to see my notifications when I click on the icon top right now.  I have this problem with W7/FF and Android/Chrome.

It rarely drops down to reveal the notifications.

Check if it happens with the default skin.

I think I use that (I've never changed it away xD)

Site is barely working for me...at least when I try to post anything...did you install new anti-spam filters? ;)

It seems you're getting all the same problems as me. I can't see anything dynamically animated at the forum homepage (notifications, PMs, previous comments on statuses), but if I access another page of the forum then everything suddenly works again.

I enabled the default IPB skin. You can change to it through the "Change Theme" link at the bottom right.

See if that helps.

Maybe it has something to do with the HTTPS? Nothing works on the main page, and the connection is not through HTTPS. Every other page on the forum however, goes through it that way, and that's when it all works.

It now works, not sure if it's because I did what you said Mana or because in checking if it worked I inadvertently dud what Infin suggested.

Anyway, thank you :)

Just seen your post Luop...maybe you're on to something
