Diablo is a legend, it practically reinvented RPG. Many have tried to make a game just as good but so very few have managed. And another thing, blizzard doesn't have to make anything new, there are many new concepts out there, why does blizzard have to follow, other game producers should follow in the blizzard way, "make a good game, and make sequels which are even better".

No computer game "invented" RPGs, but if one were to have done so, it would have not been Diablo, which barely even qualifies as an RPG as opposed to a barely glorified and sub-par hack'n'slasher. Diablo is more like the Devil May Cry series, only with less action and more grind.

Holy crap, you do hate Blizzard . They almost showed nothing about the game and I already see a lot of pessimism out there. Be patient, Blizzard always release quality games.

Ok, I'm fine with arguing but your a hypocrite here. You basically evangelized demonizing blizzard and slash at anyone saying there games are good, but one someone attacks you, you become the victim. A healthy debate shows both sides of an argument, not one-sided slander (also pain was obviously just joking). I love diablo, its an interesting storyline, very fun, multiple way of playing , many classes, and in truth it started the dungeon crawl era on PC. You can't bash it and ignore the fact that it had amazing success because it entertained millions

The only people I've "slashed" are those annoying starcraft fanboys that won't shutup and stop proclaiming their ancient game-- which was already surpassed in quality like a year before it was even released even-- to be the best game evar and that all other games should be moar liek it, except those that are more like it are clones and thus suck. My comments in the first post in this thread refer specifically to these individuals.

I don't care if you like the games despite the fact that better games were released both before and after, and I'm not going to insult you for liking it. Indeed, I was the one that was insulted for NOT liking it... called a noob for not thinking that Diablo and its successors are the best thing evar. What a load of bullshit. Lighten up will ya? This is a gaming forum talking about a game and we are all friends. If you took Pain seriously than you have the wrong sense of humor for this clan. You have been raving bout the mindless fan boys and again the victimization of yourself, yet neither of the too have appeared in the thread. Now the slashing is evident, Pain shows great interest in the game and Troispoint threw in a positive comment, then you go full force on both of them? It may only be two people but there only like 5 of us that have even posted in this thread. I'm done talking, just rant on this post if you really want to, but I'm still going to buy, enjoy, and love Diablo 3 for a long time.

What game are you talking about here

Total Annihilation was released before Starcraft, and was generally a better game-- especially for the modding community, which made the game so much more varied and fun to play for a long time after released. Thousands of new units, hundreds of mods, a dozen or so total conversions making it into a new game entirelly... one game turns into many with this type of modding support, which was hands-down the best modding support of any game in the business, with the possibility of the engine used by Valve in Half-Life.

This doesn't include tons and tons of other games that were released at the same time, shortly before or after, or in the many years since, that have exceeded Starcraft in quality, just the one example I had in mind.
