Its the equivalent of walking up to a fairly knowledgeable friend and asking him what he thinks about something. Accuracy of the Wiki itself aside; the "references" section at the bottom of the page is invaluable. If you're having a hard time finding good sources for a topic on the interwebs, the Wikipedia references section will give you several trustworthy places to start you off. Many profs are very quick to ban Wikipedia as a research tool and its unfortunate that so many students miss out on what it has to offer because of it. P.S. Google is not evil.
