.Switch 0 #1 Posted August 27, 2008 I didn't write this engineer tutorial but thought I would share it. Enjoy. Dispensers: Always build dispencer near the supply cabinets. Only pros build them in totally unnessesary places. Dispensers dont give you metal fast enough so you want to build them near a good source of metal, so the best place would be right in the spawn. It doesnt matter if you are on the last cap point, you might run out of metal! Even though the dispenser has infinite, its not worth risking. Teleporters: Always build them so they teleport your teammates 5 feet, you dont want to leave your teleporters vulnerable to spys do you? Having teleporters close to each other is a smart move. Sentrys: Always build sentrys were they can see everyone. Dont worry about soldiers being able to rocket your sentry. Soldiers are just a myth. Oh, and always build them before you build a dispenser. Its always a good idea to have a sentry up rather than a metal source. Build them inside the spawn points, because they are safe from spys and they wont run out of ammo quickly. Putting them out in the open is the best thing you can possibly do though. General building: Always spread your stuff out (except teleporters) this makes it harder for spys to sap them all. Example: Say your at orange. Buid your dispenser at the spawn, while building a sentry in the roof of the tower, and have the teleporter tp you from the 2nd cap point, to halfway near the tower. That way they will be close enough to knock any sappers off. Dont worry about sentrys because they shoot spys that are in disguise. Fighting: Never use the shotgun. It makes to much sence, always try to whack people with the wrench like the pros do. It does ton of damage and doesn't waste any bullets. Never fight anywhere near your sentrys, because the spys will find your buildables and take them out. Dont worry about snipers, since the engi's hardhat is bullet proof. If you ever need to use your guns, use your handgun. The engineer is strong enough to outshoot heavys, so always be the first one to dive into battle. THIS IS HOW THE PROS DO IT! friedrice 8 #4 Posted August 27, 2008 I'm not really sure if this is poking fun at people who are really bad at playing engineer. I've never seen someone put a dispenser at a spawn.
