Oww My Nose 19 #6 Posted September 3, 2008 that would kill his ePenis tho. I use Vista 64 on my gaming machine, Vista 32 on my home laptop, XP on my school laptop (came pre-installed) out o them all, I prefer vista 64, then XP, then vista 32, because my home lappy can't really handle vista fully
Rydawg 14 #7 Posted September 3, 2008 type slower man! I work 9 hours a day. I sit at my desk with nothing to do, 7 hours a day. I browse about 20 different forums. I have no time for making complete thoughts or thorough sentences! let alone Paragraphs!!!! Mana 3,867 #8 Posted September 3, 2008 Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 are missing. Those are the only Windows versions that I use on my computers (2 Server 08, 2 Server 2003).
Rydawg 14 #9 Posted September 3, 2008 i meant as far as main stream stuff. Not many people are computer smert liek you Mana. I thought there was a thread here that showed your computer set up w/ pics. I can't find it.
Doxt 1 #10 Posted September 3, 2008 I thought XP was bloated when it came out, and I still do. Vista is even worse.
-=^*Draco*^=- 0 #11 Posted September 3, 2008 Vista uses about 800 megs to 1.5 gigs of ram on startup depending on what you have running/disabled. That's why most games recommend an extra gig of ram when you're using Vista. Not that ram (besides DDR3) is that expensive these days, pretty cheap. At the medium section, XP and Vista are pretty much the same. At the higher end, Vista starts pulling ahead because of tech improvements. That's the general gist of it. Alucard winrar 0 #13 Posted September 3, 2008 Use vista 64-bit, prefer it. I agree with these guys, its best on higher end hardware and a memory hog. Microsoft may have put out a shit OS when Vista hit the market, but they have put out many patches and a service pack which has done tons to help it. Oww My Nose 19 #14 Posted September 4, 2008 i love the split vote. at this time, 7 use xp, 6 use vista, and 7 prefer vista, the other 6 prefer xp
flyer434 0 #15 Posted September 6, 2008 I agree with Draco. I have vista 32 bit on my gaming machine, and xp on all my older hardware. Other than hoarding resources, vista doesnt have many extra features. The only thing I like about Vista is that it recovers from hardware glitches gracefully. TF2 locks up my graphics card once or twice a week, and vista will restart the device and driver without even exiting the program. I get fragged, but im back in the game in ~1 min rather than the 5 minutes it would take to restart and get back on the server.
coda 1 #16 Posted September 6, 2008 I use and prefer XP. Back when I used Vista, I kept gettin blue screens, course that was back when Vista came out.
Koopa 0 #17 Posted September 6, 2008 I'm the opposite actually, I had XP and windows constantly crashed when I would play TF2, so i upgraded to Vista and it works like a charm. Love the layout as well
