Rydawg 14 #1 Posted September 16, 2008 Just wondering if there is a set of Rules ( minus Valve ones) the pertain to the Lotus servers. Im curious cause in the last couple times playign I have come across some pretty rude, disrespectful, loud, annoying on a few servers. Mainly people calling everyone 'niggers' yelling into the mic, other random racial slurs, interrupting others for no reason cept to do so, telling the other team what our plan is etc. Is there anything that can be done about this? On one of the servers a dup was doing this and everyone on the team was complaining so i did a vote kick and course the other team didnt know wtf was join on so they voted against and the players continued their BS. I know this is a 'teenage' game but this is the Lotus server and is pretty respectable.
Nket 16 #2 Posted September 16, 2008 theres nothing we can do about, you can start vote kicks against them if you donate but since mine ran out and i will be playing Warhammer online (gonna be my monthly fee) i just ignore the racism and crap since in order to do anything about it i have to make a demo and screenshots and post it in the forums so i really dont bother. I do think mana needs to give members and maybe even L-r2s (extreme recruits) some adminning power, like kicks for the l-r2s and kick/mute/temp ban to the members. but i really dont care unless it makes other players offended and leave the server. because as it stands, if mana is offline there is not admin available at all. Mana 3,867 #3 Posted September 16, 2008 offline there is not admin available at all. Yes there are, and that works real good when it comes to hackers as they don't know whats what\who's who. There are no concrete rules as per say, but it's common sense. As if saying "no hacking" will deter anyone, just a waste of space. There is no word filter so swearing is permitted, however if someone overuses the word "nigger" then they will get removed. I'm not just going to bad someone for using that word when we have no word filter. But if someone is using that word to attack someone repeatedly... you can guess the outcome. But before I ban anyone.. lets just say that the outcome is MUCH MORE funnier when you report that person to steam and they see that word in their name. It's really worth it. Nket 16 #4 Posted September 16, 2008 who are the other admin on lotus servers? edit: im also talking more about griefers/mic spammers that dont use the auto talk thing so the muter doesnt catch em/and guys that do racial slurs, put racial slurs in their name, act like douchebags, and i never see anything happen to them. not really talking about hackers. I assume when he said "admin" he means anyone with admin privilege on the server (voteban/votekick), which basically mean anyone who shell out $10 a month for the server like I did, and there is no identification who donated until the function is used. To get someone banned permanently just save screenshot/highlight/demo or whatever and post to the banned section of the forum. Then they will be gone for good, unless a cafe account is being used. Nket 16 #13 Posted September 17, 2008 voteban and votekick are far to hard to get passed, the other team most of the time will vote no because they do not have the griefer/asshole on their team, and voteban needs a unanimous vote to pass, both of which are really hard, by admin i am talking about people with mana power, to kick and mute and temporary ban without a vote. Actually there is an easy way of passing a vote. Don't just make a vote, tell people why you are making a vote. Seems to work pretty well judging from the logs. This is why members/recruits should have a vote count of +3, and donators have vote count of +2. That way if there are many regulars around, it shouldn't be as hard to vote kick/ban someone. Btw, i was votekicked by some newb who donated simply because i was telling him how to not play like a retard. Some people should be placed on the immuned list.
