what 1 #1 Posted June 3, 2009 Hey im not sure whats going on, but when I join lotos servers, about 1-2mins later tf2 just freezes up. There is no error or anything and I have to alt ctrl del tf2 just to get it to close. This has only seemed to happen on lotus servers. If you don't allow custom content on the servers, some of the server-side plugins may prevent you from logging on properly. Also, if you don't allow custom content you won't download the particles/party hats that's part of the donator privledge. Even if you're not a donator, everyone sees the donator particles and party hats. Without downloading these, you probably can't connect properly to our servers. The game will load perfectly, I get in, I choose who I want to play as, I spawn, I walk around and then BAM - Frozen. (usually happens about 30-60 seconds after spawning) It's not my computer because I can Crtl+Alt+Del out and everythings working fine, it isn't my TF2 because I've reinstalled it/defragmented it/etc and it only happens on the Lotus stock servers. The MoTD has been displayed as a null page the past few times I have tried to join but then I am not sure if that is the problem. Today I got in, and played for a minute and then it froze on me again, this time on the stock maps 2 server. However, I was able to fix it by going to close the game on my toolbar and a different menu came up with an "x" on it. Weird.. After, I opened console and it was flooded in red.. what 1 #25 Posted June 7, 2009 Well I found a way to keep it from freezing. Basically just lower your resolution and then when your in game change it back as soon as you join.
