Probably the wrong spot but... Apparently some retards on you east coast server want to ban me cuz I "hax0r". I made a stab and sap script (most of you smart people should know what it is) and at the end it says STAB N SAP SCRIPT SUCCESSFUL in chat. And those tards apparently think that script automatically=hax. So do you mind telling them to f**k off? In game name is the same as my display name.

Well, according to Valve, scripts are not cheats. Whether or not they are "hacks" vary from person to person. I believe that when you play a game it should be you playing the game, not your computer (which a script is essentially your computer playing for you, albeit minimally). Granted, I use a G15 keyboard for things such as quickly building a sentry/dispenser/teleporter and changing my team, which themselves could be considered scripts/hacks. Why your script types "stab and sap script successful" boggles me, but to each their own I suppose. One thing you must keep in mind on the Lotus servers is that if Mana's not around the server's a democracy. You can only get kicked/banned if enough people think you are cheating. If people don't like the fact that you use scripts and kick/ban you, then obviously enough people agree that scripts are cheating. It boils down to whether or not people think scripts are hacking. If you keep getting kicked, you can either disable your script or try another server. I would suggest modifying your script to not display the text in chat, if at all possible.

Only use scripts if it's something that the game takes a long time to handle because of where buttons are situated (Like building or maybe swapping weapons in a class and such like Spartan said). Actual gameplay shouldn't use scripts, like demoman scripts or this stab/sap script, IMO.

You weren't banned because you were scripting. You were being vote banned for being a jackass for having a talking script every time you backstab. Nobody gives a shit you backstabbed someone. If I had a "sticky bomb script successful" script, I would be spamming the server every second.

Side note, I think scripts are a good idea. Obviously you can still be quite good without them, but a good player with script is going to be better than himself without. Why wouldn't you want to spend a few minutes to make your self better? Automatic random disguise script for spy is like the best thing in the world. It is why I am better than Melissia even though I hardly play spy.

I think what he's trying to say is like working out, you play a game to become more "in tune" as to when to detonate stickies and such. If you use scripts, you are sorta short cutting the actual working out phase and getting to the end product, but even though you've reached it, you'll just get worse once you turn it off or it becomes unavailable, like someone using 'roids. They might get really big really fast, but they deal damage to themselves because they artificially grew those muscles, and if they stop, they'll probably find their body in worse shape then when they first started.

Its true. I agree. Disguising as a guy who is dead is probably better than disguising as someone randomly (a very small small small small % better). But there is a trade off isn't it? For you to get that small small small small benefit, you have to stop and press 2 buttons. In my opinion, that hurts you a lot more. Cuz in reality, you should minimize the time you are uncloaked anyways, so its more about execution and getting disguised as soon as possible and be completely invisible than it is to waste your time trying to disguise as a dead person waiting for respawn.

You are red. You go stab a sniper on the ridge, instantly cloak and go hide while u wait for the initial 'there is a spy here' shit. by that time you used the .0005 seconds it took you to press the 2 buttons and go as the sniper.... not hard and much more efficient
