Melissia 7 #1 Posted July 14, 2009 STEAM_0:1:17431756 The guy's shots end up nowhere near where he's aiming. He's a terrible sniper, but somehow he gets headshots when he's aiming at people's feet. Miyari also has a demo I think. http://rapidshare.com/files/255854089/douchebag_2.dem.html That SHOULD be the right one...
Shin Gouki 1 #2 Posted July 15, 2009 I haven't seen the video yet. But I gotta say, if he's aiming at your feet and hits your head, he is pro.
Melissia 7 #3 Posted July 15, 2009 He hit at least a dozen scouts that way, just ask Miyari.
Link2086 5 #4 Posted July 15, 2009 I was in the game at the time; I saw him make a few suspicious shots but didn't really pay much attention until Miyari and Melissia said something about the "twitch sniper" who was getting weird headshots.
Miyari 33 #5 Posted July 15, 2009 lol I have a demo too I can upload if necessary, it's probably not drastically different from Mel's though probably has about 5 more minutes of hilarity on it.
Josh 18 #6 Posted July 15, 2009 can I get the second demo?
Melissia 7 #7 Posted July 16, 2009 Yeah, best you post it Miyari. Mine was probably too short.
Xcalibur 5 #8 Posted July 17, 2009 From The Valve developer community / Source Multiplayer Networking "If you follow a player in "First-Person" as a spectator in a game or SourceTV, you don't exactly see what the player sees" Spectators see the game world without lag compensation From The Valve developer community / Source Multiplayer NetworkingMultiplayer hit detection is not pixel perfect and has known precision limitations based on the tickrate and the speed of moving objects. Increasing the tickrate does improve the precision of hit detection, but also requires more CPU, memory, and bandwidth capacity for server and clients From The Valve developer community / Source Multiplayer NetworkingLow latency is a significant advantage when playing a multiplayer online game. Techniques like prediction and lag compensation try to minimize that advantage and allow a fair game for players with slower connections. Tweaking networking setting can help to gain a better experience if the necessary bandwidth and CPU power is available. We recommend keeping the default settings, since improper changes may cause more negative side effects than actual benefits
Josh 18 #9 Posted July 17, 2009 Once again, I don't want bullshit from their wiki. They've improved spectator and that only applies when both players pings are at about 200.
Melissia 7 #10 Posted July 17, 2009 I'll bug Miyari. She probably forgot about this thread *lol* My ping averages around 80 (highest it normally gets to is 95 or so, and I wasn't downloading anything), and Miyari's ping is lower than mine on averags, by the way... forgot what that guy's ping was at the time... but I don't think it was that much higher. Xcalibur 5 #11 Posted July 17, 2009 I tried to help, But I see my help isn't wanted.
Melissia 7 #12 Posted July 17, 2009 Checking replays/demos is pretty much josh' official duty in the clan. He knows the system, and it's just what he does, when he's not stabbing people in the back.
The Lorax 25 #13 Posted July 20, 2009 Yeah caught this guy as well on stocks 1. He is good about turning it off whenever someone is in spec, so he is hard to catch, but the second I went into spec he went from dominating our team to being dominated by. The most suspicious thing i caught on this demo was when he was on defense near the last point a few minutes into the demo. He is pretty clearly snapping and locking on phantom when he is hiding behind the pipes on the top of the hill. Also note his ridiculous score compared to his play style - bullshit. Jmis Demo
Spartan_0214 18 #14 Posted July 20, 2009 By the way, Mel, I can't download your demo. The max of 10 downloads has been reached. FILEFRONT FTW!
The Lorax 25 #15 Posted July 21, 2009 So phantom tells me he wasn't behind those pipes at the time of this demo, but it still looks like he was locking onto something. The video isn't the most convincing evidence, but this guy is definitely using some kind of hacks.
Spartan_0214 18 #16 Posted July 21, 2009 It looked like he was using an aimbot, but not shooting at the right time. There is also some slight evidence of wall hacking, but I'm not sure.
