samuraispirit 0 #1 Posted August 6, 2007 Hi, I´m not chinese but I learning chinese since february and I think it is the best speech in the world (I want to live in China so I learn the speech). I don´t think the speech and the signs are hard to learn like many people saying it is very easy for me. So is anybody here who speaks chinese or is chinese? I only can write and read in pinyin now so I can´t read many signs when somebody of you are chinese and would now only write with chinese signs but you can do that too so than I can learn. I have a very good program for writing chinese and its free and you don´t have to pay for it or giving your adress: Nanjistar Chinese WP (http://www.njstar.com) Greetings samuraispirit
tomonnk 2 #2 Posted August 7, 2007 Hi I'm not chinese too, but i've learned it one years at high school and now i'm going for second year. I think too is the best language in the world and i want to live in China too I know approximately 400/500 signs and enough pinyin. But if you want to learn it, it's better if you go to school because you have to learn to speak it too, and thats the hardest part i think cause one word may have different signification by the way you pronounce it, chinese language have 4 different tone. I'm speaking about Mandarin (the official language), i don't know for others.
samuraispirit 0 #3 Posted August 7, 2007 Yes I learn it at a school for speeches too. My first teacher wasn´t chinese she was taiwanese. And she wasn´t ever in china. So she only had make pinyin and not the signs. I only know maybe 10 signs or something but my new chinese teacher (she is from Beijing so she is a real chinese) want to make the signs with me. And she says that I´m truly the best she knows in learning chinese. She had say that I only have to spend 6 months in China and then I would speak chinese perfectly. Only the signs are the bad things I hadn´t learn she sayed but it isn´t so that I be bad at learning the signs. Its only because my old teacher don´t had learning the signs with me. Maybe because in her country Taiwan are the original signs and in the school you learning simplified chinese. Maybe she was afraid she would confuse the traditional and simplified signs but I don´t know. But however my new teacher will make with me the signs too. My teacher had sayed it is false to say Mandarin to the chinese speech. Mandarin is a european appellation of the chinese speech from the chinese writer of the chinese government in the age of the emperors of China (they are called Mandarin or alike) but I don´t know it exactly. But chinese is so a beautiful speech I think. Easy too learn but only when you want do learning it of course. I don´t have problems with it. tomonnk 2 #4 Posted August 7, 2007 Well the signs are not difficult to learn if you practice regulary, but as you said, if you like what you are learning, there is no problem

tomonnk 2 #8 Posted August 8, 2007 But if you go to China you have to know the signs cause the pinyin is not in use.
