Dragonsoul 3 #27 Posted February 20, 2006 And don't forget one more person that tied with space and time. Soban=matter. Space, time, and matter.

{Dark}BerZerKer 0 #29 Posted February 21, 2006 matter is a funny little thing. most of it is invisible, so many of us scientists can't decide whether the universe will end in le crunch, or le cold-miserable-continual-expanding-eternity:D the more matter there is, the more gravity, and the more the chance there will be a big crunch. black holes, we are unsure, are either friend or foe. they are either banishing the matter (which is bad), or concentrating the matter (which is good). [LOT]gumbercules 0 #30 Posted February 22, 2006 but i thought matter couldnt "vanish". its impossible, matter can only change from one form into another.....(ice to water, water to vapor)... how would black holes change physics altogether..... and for the "big crunch" to happen its still a loooong way from happening since the universe is still expanding....another thing i wanna bring up is that black holes turn matter into pure energy (i heard that from the science chanel) and that black holes die out.....dessintegrating atom by atom. {Dark}BerZerKer 0 #31 Posted February 22, 2006 ya, hawkings radiation, but that shit is too faint and miniscule to be of any significance to the future of the universe. any law of physics stops when u pass the event horizon of a black hole. black holes forcibly tear through the fabric of space, and with such a rupture, the ether therein cannot belong to our universe, so no law of ours exists there. so matter could be destroyed, i hope not though. [LOT]gumbercules 0 #32 Posted September 12, 2006 Here is another one. what is light? wave? particle? or both? what brings me to say that its a wave is the fact that it can travel through space, completly ruling out the fact that it can possibly be a particle, BUT what hapens to light under water? well as we all know the deeper we go, the less light there is. if you go deep enough you need really strong beams of light just to see a few dozen feet infront of you, which means that the density, the weight or both of those things are affecting light in some way, which means that there is a possibility that it could be a particle. Or!! i can just be plain crazy.

Sinophile 41 #34 Posted September 16, 2006 I remember this topic. Lots of old-timers here. My science sensei told me that light are particles with the properties of a wave. Im like 'wtf mate'. Hes a teacher at a university I KNOW YOU ARE READING THIS HERBERT YEUNG.
