Ban Request/donor Abuse - Sweatsac

June, 12 2012 , 6:30PM and 9PM EST - 24/7 Dustbowl Texas (x33)

This is more of an issue with him abusing his privileges, rather than asking for a direct ban.

I do not have a screencap of the game, but I have done a couple print screens of the chat log. He abused his ability to votekick me twice by saying I was afk, when he simply did not like what I said. And did it to another player in the same timeframe.

As our team was complaining about people not assisting, I said there were too many snipers. less than 40 seconds later he votekicked me as afk. I clearly was not afk, since I was playing and chatting.

After a break I returned to the server and he was still there. I said that I felt he was being a bit petty and childish (as were others.) He actually votekicked me mere seconds after I said that, again stating I was somehow afk.

After looking through his chat logs, it appears this is a common occurrence, though you would be able to tell better than I.

In the same game he did the same thing to another player named dudewat. I was spectating this time and he votekick afk-ed him, and again he was not afk. Dudewat even responds to the move a mere 2 seconds later.

I am not so concerned with him being banned, as him simply not being allowed to do such things again. It is the internet, so people are bound not to like each other, but by abusing this feature he is ruining the experience for other players.

Seems like blatant donor abuse. An admin will get to this sometime soon and will most likely issue a temporary ban possibly accompanied by a donor removal.

I'm sorry King, but he has been known to start random kicks in UK too. he may be a good person, but it doesn't mean he isn't abusing his priviledges (notice i didn't say powers!!)

wow, really h7ych, i put votes up after seeing people type votekick name here, need votes to make happen, and i ask why r u trying to votekick him?, someone says afk i put the vote up. thats fine i will stop using the vote aspect of my rights, i have no problem with that. just dont say in 1 sentence im a good person, then blast me in the next, i enjoy playing the uk servers, and would never doing anything to destroy my reputation on those servers or piss off the players on those servers. yes including you! friends list buddy. in closing someone destroy this tread! sweatsac out!

• I'm not sure I was still playing at this point in the night. If I was a betting man your reactions to the other "snake" being kicked followed by everyone saying "wrong snake". He really did kick you this time thinking he had been kicking the wrong person previously and was attempting to not make that mistake again.

I've seen votes started by sweatsac on servers but they are almost always previously accompanied by others without donor priveledges attempting to get the 5 required pre-votes to get the real vote started. He just speeds it along (as have I). There have also been occasions of even teams suddenly becoming very lop-sided followed by complaints of afks. I don't know how sweatsac goes about it but I kick the people who's names are repeatedly coming from the person-to-be-kicked's teammates.

I was just in spec recording a demo attempting to catch someone I believe to be hacking (They always seem to go from invincible to mediocre when I spec 'em) just yesterday.

Idle without shooting has been shortened, Mana could tell you if someone not moving, but shooting would be kicked. Neither of these is spec though

I could accept that he was somehow mistaken with the chat log labeled abuse 2, where he actually typed "snake." However, the one marked abuse 1 was clearly against me, and I'm fairly certain the other sanke person was not on the server at that time. The "wrong snake" chat log actually happened an hour or so later. It was my 3rd time on the server that night, and I had erroneously believed he was trying to vote for me for the 3rd time. The quotes in abuse 1 show that I said people were being childish and he wrote down MY name immediately.

I will accept his apology and let everyone get back to their lives, I would however ask that he pays more attention in the future. Especially since the Texas server seems to be getting filled with more abusers lately. Might I suggest at the very least to not label everything as afk, and actually tell the people why you're votekicking? Most people seem to just hit yes. If dudewat was dicking around in spawn, why not say/label the kick as such? When you're actively playing and someone claims that you're afk and people simply hit yes because they take his word for it, it is quite annoying.

Giving the true reason seems to be the invitation for others to either start commenting "umadbro!" or participate in whatever activity the person is being kicked for. 'afk' simply gets the job done in 1 vote versus 4 when everyone else has finally had enough of the guy roughly 7 minutes later or perhaps everyone gets sick of the repeated votekick attempts; I'm never certain which it is.

No one ever has to start off like a douche to be a douche and cause mayhem. I hope this isn't favoritism or leniency on your part for the person called into question. Anyone can abuse their privileges at any time, doesn't have to be a friendly person. I'm an asshole to players with my Epic (Damn you Lotus) Black Box but will not resort to abusing my gifts.

Someone who's been with a community should know the rules very well and should also be treated the same manner as others, with respect, (Meaning don't troll every request that's made.) and be fully aware and expected to receive consequences of breaking the rules.

I hope if my name ever appears on here for abuse or any nonsense, I won't be given leniency just because I happen to be friends with a few screw-looses in the Staff and from time to time assist in the daily ops.

Looking at the pics, seems guilty. Also, on the Spec/AFK thing, its not working in Texas Servers, specifically 24/7 ones as I see people go into spec when the server's full and not be kicked for nearly 10 minutes until I or someone else calls a vote kick.

I did not defend sweatsac for being my friend, but for being a lotus donator for 4 years and also i played a lot, a loooooot with him and such thing never happen, i know him very well and i doubt he would start to abuse his powers suddenly.

And to clarify that "investigation", i meant i was going to ask sweatsac what happened and i made him aware of the situation, i don't think anyone likes to be punished without having a chance of defending himself.

I would like to see one of you being banned without even knowing what happened, sweatsac did not know about the thread, since he doesn't frequent the forums that much, that's why i asked staff to not ban him yet.

Because it's fair being banned by a mistake, i knew if i didn't post that thing denied, some admin would apply a temporary ban and i don't think it would be deserved.

I'm an admin, i gave my opinion, but it's not my final decision, so i'm out.

I hope i clarified my statements up there, aiju and snake. Sorry if i wasn't clear but this is not a case of favoritism or anything like that.
