Alyptic 1 #1 Posted December 2, 2012 I really enjoy playing on the lotus servers (particularly the east coast ones) but as of late I've noticed blatant and obvious team stacking by a certain clan (who's name I'll withhold for now). Generally they join the same team, then steamroll the other team, and when teams are autoscrambled (usually automatically, since they vote against any votescramble), they'll join spectator until they can rejoin their clan members on the same team again. Rinse and repeat for hours. I understand if you want to play with a friend, but when you have 6-7 friends in the same server, it's really lame to stack all on the same team. My question is -- is this breaking the rules on the server? I'm not sure if this falls under "No ungiving/persistant douchebaggery" -- if it's not breaking the rules, that's 100% fine, I just don't want to waste my time trying to organize votescrambles if they're going to be in vain. Thanks!
EggShell 1,102 #2 Posted December 2, 2012 i don't think it's breaking any rules brother that said, I'd encourage you to keep organizing votescrambles if you're so inclined. It's part of the democratic process of server management , it is after all a vote and it is open to be used by server participants! The server will decide if they agree with you or not, and majority will be happy
-Solaris- 19 #3 Posted December 2, 2012 I do agree with you its lame however team stacking is something you must learn to deal with on Lotus servers, it’s for them who must always be on the winning team and it’s also reason why people donate, Remember donations is what help keeps the servers running. Don’t worry about it and try enjoy the game!
Chez-Box 3,240 #4 Posted December 3, 2012 you dont get any better at the game unless you get rolled once in a whileand when your team is getting blatantly rolled, its usually not because of skill, more than likely an issue with having idiots on your own team, and poor class balance....just saying
Alyptic 1 #5 Posted December 3, 2012 ok! thanks for the quick replies -- i appreciate it! I understand it's something I'll have to deal with, I was just wondering what the current stance was on it.

Vaginal Hubris 2,659 #7 Posted December 3, 2012 It also depends on if they are a donator, which keeps you from being auto-balanced.
DEATH STRIKE 573 #8 Posted December 3, 2012 I never team stack. But I do like to play with mah friends. And if I can't pick a team I turn All Talk on. That way we all can "play" and talk together.....

Nano 7,892 #11 Posted December 3, 2012 Team stacking is allowed if for no other reason that it would be impossible to prevent. It also depends on if they are a donator, which keeps you from being auto-balanced. Just to clarify for the OP, auto-balance is not the same thing as auto-scramble. Even donators will be auto-scrambled.
Se7en 10,762 #12 Posted December 3, 2012 If you play on the weaker team for long enough your skills will improve faster and you will end up making a difference when joining a losing team. Have fun.

Wampa Stompa 40 #16 Posted December 5, 2012 i'm often on the stacked team, but it's not acceptable for more than a mini-round or two in my opinion this is why donator privileges shouldn't protect from autobalance/scramble. there's no logical reason to do that, it just allows certain people to spend all of their time stacking. as an example, i have never seen a member of ".fk" clan play with any less than four of them on the same team, and they cannot be balanced. they're not even good, but when your team of random matchmaking pubs is facing two demos with their four kritz medic friends, it's breaks the game. certain members of lotus clan are doing this too, of course. Team stacking is allowed if for no other reason that it would be impossible to prevent. Just to clarify for the OP, auto-balance is not the same thing as auto-scramble. Even donators will be auto-scrambled. donators can change teams at will, they are effectively immune to auto-scramble. usually the people that do this just put in the team switch command within a couple of seconds after a scramble, before the round even begins. i really think the donator privileges need to be changed... this is the reason that the east coast payload servers are always empty these days. Unacceptable? For people to play with other people they know and "win a lot?" Lulz! I'm sorry, I didn't know some random internet guy's feelings were more important than us playing our games with whomever we want to play with. If there was a server that I couldn't play with my partner on, I wouldn't play on that server. Instead of demanding that other people who have friends split up just to coddle your delicate feelings and let you win more, maybe you should get some friends of your own if you don't like feeling alone. -Tristan- 948 #24 Posted December 17, 2012 Not getting autobalanced away from my wife when we play is actually the principle reason I donated to lotus and began frequenting these servers. It's unfortunate that I need to pay more for this "team" aspect of Team Fortress 2, but so be it.
Chez-Box 3,240 #25 Posted December 17, 2012 for the record, even with donor privs, and never getting auto'd, if I am on a stacked team, after a roll or two, I will start a scramble vote, its really not much fun rolling people repeatedly, jsut as it isn't fun being rolled
