But maybe I am just overreacting since the first thing I see about this anime is some wimp wearing a shirt with exposed nipples in a star shaped hole.

Actually that animation style isn't the majority of the show.

And it is horrible, in an awesome way.

We bought the movie for videorecorder many years ago. It was back then when Pokemon actually was epic and not this buttfuck "+10 new Pokemons a day" fabrication.

I even shed some tears on certain moments. It had good soundtrack as well.

I'd buy a remake of the first Pokemon games, because I actually know all of the Pokemon there and I prefer to keep it like that. the Pokemon Anime also was better than this new pokemon anim. I could still punch walls when I think about this annoying Mudkip scene that I happened to see.

Well from a neutral point of view, and since I can't make a review of something I didn't watched, here are the highlights of the show and some global average score reviews from what I could gather...

Plot: Not ambitious enough; nearly non-existent.

Pacing: Moves about as fast as a drunken snail going uphill.

Characters: Many main characters are not developed enough.

Ending: See plot.

Artwork: Beautifully drawn.

Tone: Genuinely creepy.

MyAnimeList: 7.91 / 10

The Nihon Review: 4 / 10

The Awesome Critics: 4 / 10

Anime-Planet: 3.75 / 5

Anime News Network: B-

The Good: Creates a unique horror experience with its memorable premise, dramatic twists and beautiful art design.

The Bad: Short story format results in some episodes being better (or worse) than others. Relies on a highly repetitive formula.
