Degreaser Or Phlogistinator

Degreaser is for m2 pyros, but in fact phlog gives you less attention from scouts, demos and soldiers. But it's only my opinion.

Holdover from stats, they can be such an obsession, really glad we don't have them anymore to be honest as I enjoy the gameplay a lot more now that I'm not trying to stay in the top 10 for 2 classes and top 50 overall T_T.

At any rate, I can only speak from the receiving end of pyro flames, and in my opinion, phlog pyros are free kills. Even if they taunt with mmmmph, just use the time to get distance, then deal 175+ dmg from outside their fire range.

Could be a Non Phlogi Pyro taunting. Valve could have made a custom sound/taunt for Pyro's phlogi. Allthough, Phlogi Pyros already are cancer Pyros, being able to clearly hear them using mmph would be worse cancer.

I like using the full set, nothing like a speedy, nerfed Pyro to run around and working to get my Crit Kills, or meleeing people with something old fashioned, an automobile jack, with a heavy car battery. Now that's what you call CABERing in their skulls!

I fell in love with phlogi.

After downloading a lightning flames skin for phlogi that fixed my lag issue with phlogi flames, I am now getting freekills all over lol

my highest k/d of any class is backburner pyro.. i play it as a shotgun killer with the added bonus of fire.. if i have a med that can touch up my health now and then my k/d will be something like 5:1.. aggression is key.. gotta play it like a crackhead.

i play the degreaser/flare loadout as a more team oriented solution.. the flare gun itself is massively underrated..

i like the phlog/shotgun loadout if i'm feeling campy.. its a pretty brutal combo if you use is tactically.. what most pyros do wrong is they risk their lives trying so hard for marginal probability kills.. the key is to light them on fire and back off if it isnt a guaranteed kill.. build up the oomph.. the power in the wep is the tactical use of taunt kritz.

In defence of the phlog, it does retain the idea of how the pyro was originally meant to be played; i.e. suprise bitch slap to the face and you're dead.

It's meant to be a class you run the fuck away from, since close up there's not much you can do against it.

On the other hand degreaser is way too much fun. Flare Gun, Axtinguisher, Reserve Shooter, even Detonator in some cases are awsome things to go with it. I prefer degreaser, but I don't hate the phlog.

I used detonator. But Flarejump is so sucky, It barely does a good jump that helps me other than passing a little fence. Flaregun is way more precise and OP to use if you know how.

If you'd ever like help learning how to do good jumps with it I'd be happy to show you. The jumps are fine with a little skill and practice.

I know you enjoy phlog, pro players can use the detonator and explode it in a group of people, building your phlog from a distance easily and quickly. Might be something to consider.

Det jumping is awsome. But much like a lot of awsome weps, I very rarely use the detonator; just because I'm not good at using it, and I guess I never put in the time to practice.

Meaning I´m 16th person who crafted it. Meaning I was waiting for that gun like crazy, hoping it will fix pyro and give her mobility. O boy was I disappointed!

As I said, it is fun weapon just like scroch shot is. With scroch you can also burn multiple players and even mess with their aim, but still when it comes to "serious" game-play and the best damage, flare gun wins over all other secondary weapons for pyro.

Was waiting for deatonator so much, it would be great weapon if only it gives higher jump. Not like this that I have to search for "special" places on the map so I can do a jump... bleh...

The jump for scorch is variable and usually isn't enough to get you where you want to go
