A Plugin To Restore Your Loadout When The Item Server Is Down

Uh.. is this plugin okay with Valve? Looks like you could change a loadout as you wish, including adding things like unusual hats and such. Which will be fun if someone tries to sell them...

Because Lotus servers don't allow such things already? wink.png

You don't "physically" get the items, i.e. you don't get them in your inventory. You just get them while you're on the server.

You don't "physically" get the items, i.e. you don't get them in your inventory. You just get them while you're on the server.

No, you don't get a different hat. You just get an effect applied to it, on this server. You don't get a physically different... erm... a virtual item with another ID.

If you don't get the item put into your inventory, then it's okay.

It's impossible to get yourself Unusuals with plugins like this. Valve would be ruined if that would be possible

No, it's not impossible.

That is why i asked if this plugin is okay with Valve.

There is no such thing as a server plugin which can alter your backpack to give you items of your liking. You can, of course, get any item, or change any item's stats, however that is only applicable on the server you are currently playing on, so nothing gets put into your backpack.

You don't actually get the item, it's like a randomizer type thing where it just forces you to equip the item............

No, it's not impossible.

That is why i asked if this plugin is okay with Valve.

All Server Hosts would be able to make profit out of that. It's not possible.

It doesn't put a copy in your backpack, just gives you a copy while on that server to use.

I checked this plugin out before.

But the thing is we don't use any of it's pre-requisites like TF2Items Give Weapon or TF2Items itself.

TF2Items tends to break on some updates and sometimes cause crashes because of that. While our extension that does similar things to TF2Items has broken maybe twice in years.

It's not because TF2Items is bad (it's good and it can do alot), it just works differently and is more prone to breakage because of how it locates the functions that it needs to operate.

Now the good news is the gamedata (for TF2Items) gets autoupdated by Sourcemod. Which should help deal with the crashes after updates (so long as they actually make new gamedata).

Which means I can do a test run on a few servers and later and see how the update situation is handled now.

This could also allow the bots to get back their new weapons (like it was before). I just don't want to have the servers crash after updates.

Because before whenever (with very few exceptions) the servers be unable to start after update or would cause crashes on player spawn was due to TF2items being out of date.
