-MW- 5 #1 Posted September 9, 2013 (edited) Hello everyone! I need help. I was informed today, by Climhazzard, that whenever I spin around in spawn I am triggering a notice to admins that informs them I may be using a spin-hack. I was also informed of this by Darwin, but I thought he was kidding. Now, anyone who has played a full game with me knows I would never hack, nor do I even know how to properly code. All I am guilty of is having my mouse sensitivity and acceleration maxed out, as this is the only speed I can play on. I think most people know I'm not hacking, but I am in danger of an auto-perma-ban thanks to SMAC. I don't know if there's anything I can do to avoid a ban, but I would be very appreciative of any answers. Thanks everyone for your time. NOTE: I have not been banned, but I am worried about being banned in the future. ^ A picture of my mouse settings for reference. - Mike - 2,728 #2 Posted September 9, 2013 I saw a warning thing happen when you did that before.
Nano 7,892 #3 Posted September 10, 2013 I have as well, and I warned you SMAC was going off and to stop and you acknowledged me verbally. If you just delete any script and stop spinning in spawn, the problem is solved. This is the code for the spin script: //Pyro Panic Button v1.0//Code:alias "battlecry" "voicemenu 2 1";alias "+panic" "battlecry; cl_yawspeed 3000; +left; +attack";alias "-panic" "-attack; -left; cl_yawspeed 210";bind "mouse4" "+panic";//End of code

Unfortunately, I'm not a hacker so it's impossible to find this script. I also acknowledged the warnings assuming it was a glitch in the system, as it obviously is. I'm afraid I'm a little more worried about my game-play being seen as "hacking" when I just use higher settings to just "stop doing it" UPDATE: I've opened a ticket with Steam Customer Support. Hopefully this resolves the issue. In the mean time I may need an unban or two. I'll make sure I keep...... someone updated. ^ A copy of the email Edited September 10, 2013 by MorW
Kitten 1,813 #5 Posted September 10, 2013 I don't think you need to worry about your mouse sensitivity.... Just stop doing this sort of thing. I didn't see exactly what you were doing when the smac warning was triggered, but I did see you spinning around like a maniac a few times. =P
+Cactus 4,948 #6 Posted September 10, 2013 "Hey, when I do this thing that looks like something a cheating program does, SMAC thinks that I might be cheating." "Well, don't do that then." "Naw, I want to keep doing it, I just figure that when I get banned for doing it, I should, you know, have some proof that I kinda knew that it was gonna happen and kept doing it anyways I guess." Profit?
fever 9,884 #7 Posted September 10, 2013 My mouse sensitivity is much higher (it was 20 before I recently changed it)...I think its more of a problem between chair and keyboard ;-)
Harlequin 2,975 #8 Posted September 10, 2013 fortunately scripting is not hacking, so you could find this script. I also have it on my pyro. well, I know I had it, not sure if it still exists. wrong. It still exists, not sure if it is still bound. I think I changed it for the detonator-jump. BUT all this script does is let's you spin in one direction. what you're doing as heavy looks quite different. you'r spinning in every fucking direction, this is why smac thinks you're using a spin-hack. SMAC never told me I am suspected of using a spin hack when using the script.

"Why in the world am I being targeted!?!" You are doing it intentionally? You said it wasn't a script so if it's not and you are just spinning like that for fun?.... Erm.... Ruby 9,039 #10 Posted September 10, 2013 The best way to make SMAC stop targeting you is to stop doing what SMAC doesn't want you to.
-MW- 5 #11 Posted September 10, 2013 Love the amount of sarcasm in this thread. As I said before, I am a bit concerned that me just spinning in spawn is triggering SMAC flagging. I have seen tonnes of other players do it without a problem. Thanks again for all the super constructive answers! I think I'll just wait for Steam Support to get back to me. As far as the scripting issue goes: I have none. Unless they started auto-enabling third party scripts into their basic downloads, I should be good. You would not know if others were being flagged by SMAC unless an admin told you...which we wouldn't. Moral of the story: don't spin = don't get in shit with SMAC. Can't really make this any clearer.
