Problem With Scripts/HUDs

Recommended Posts

A few days ago I decided try out Stabby Stabbys HUD/Scripts and it went terribly. I followed a guide on how to do this on a Mac [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA51q3jSzN4]. This didn't work but now I kept trying and downloaded Stabby Stabbys "Everything" Pack and attempted to just sorta switch folders around from Library/Application Support/Steam/Steam Apps/Common/Team Fortress 2/tf and the downloaded bits from Stabby Stabbys pack. Needless to say this worked out horribly, on the main menu screen of TF2 if i moved my mouse past a certain are on the screen it jumped back to the center immediately, i was able to join a server and when i tried playing and could not move or shoot, I could only aim, jump and crouch. So I scrapped it all, and attempted moving the files back to where they were, this didn't work the problem was still there. So I tried deleting tf2/Steam and Re-downloading them both, this did not work, the problem was still there. So i tried restoring a backup from an external hard drive that i had backed up weeks before downloading or messing with anything. The issue was still there and I don't understand how thats even possible. If anybody has any ideas on what to do I'd love to hear them, I'm no computer genius so it could be something simple but I just can' figure it out.

TL;DR: I dun fucked up, help.

Thanks everybody! :)

Run TF2 all stock. Essentially delete everything from your custom file, and than ask Se7en for the command to run it in stock. You add it to launch options, and it runs it like you freshly download it. It's like -autoexec or something. But still ask Se7en. (Oh and I'm not joking with this one, type unbind all in console, than in the options, click restore defaults.)

To find launch options go to your Steam library select TF2 and then properties. You'll see Advanced launch options there. Remember to remove - autoconfig after you launched TF2 once with it, or else your settings will keep resetting. Good luck.

Try reinstalling the OS. Make a backup, and than do it. It's sounds like an OS problem now.

Your saying Steam was online for once?

Someone mark this down, we better make it a holiday.

Obvi had the idea for a list of answers to FAQs or problems people have come across where they found the answer.  I'll update the OP with them.

Refilling Health and Mana quickly at the fountain
As soon as you enter the fountain area to replenish your health and mana, move all items which increase your health or mana (including strength and intelligence stat increase items) in your inventory to your stash.  This puts your mana and health down to its much lower base levels.  Then when you're fully replenished just add the items back into your inventory from your stash and see your mana/health capacity and levels jump up saving you valuable time.  When you add items which increase your health or mana and your health and mana are already full, the increase in health and mana is always automatically filled up to its new higher capacity.

Arcane Boot/Soul Ring extra mana trick
This works using the same principle as the "Refilling Health and Mana quickly at the fountain" trick mentioned above and tread switching.  Just drop your intelligence stat increase items or items which increase your mana capacity before using the boots or ring and then pick them up afterwards to increase the effectiveness of your boots/ring.  It can make the difference between being able to use one ability or a combo so it's worth doing.  Note, don't try this if there are enemy close by or invis heros on the enemy team.  They could snipe your items.

Empty bottle/ally teleporting from fountain trick
If an ally has teleported to you from the fountain they are still affected by the regeneration bonus for several seconds.  If you quickly give them an empty bottle it will be refilled instantly.  This video shows this and other useful bottle techniques.

      Drop tranquils whilst jungling
If you bought tranquils, providing there are no invis heros or people missing on the map you can drop your tranquils whilst clear a camp so that when you pick them back up again they instantly start to heal you.

Hi, My name is Chris P. Lettuce here and on steam, and I was banned last week from one of the High tower servers that i regularly visit. I was given absolutely no warning, and received no messages after my ban. All I could think of is two guys on the other team wanted to use only snipers, no one was doing it, i was a pyro, and then I was banned. I was wondering If I could please be un-banned?

If you've bought the excellent "Banished" and would like help with it, give me a shout as I've got a reasonable understanding of the game mechanics. It can be tricky getting going as although the game looks very much like other similar games, it's not and playing it like you have played other games can make things go tits up pretty quickly.
      It's an awesome game.
