I recently made a Ban request thread to hopefully alleviate a troll's pressure on a Turbine server.

 

Well, said troll tried to appeal the ban and apparently put 1 and 1 together to link my forum profile to my Steam name and decided to add me. I had a glimmer of hope that he was just adding me to personally apologize for the grief he causes or to genuinely try to turn over a new leaf. I guess not.

 

I wasn't sure if it qualified for another thread in the Ban forum, so I just made this. If I need to start a legit thread somewhere else, I will follow the protocol needed.

Also, I've been playing on Lotus for roughly 3-4 years, and have beena  donator for 2. I'm sorry that it took this kind of action for me to finally become a member of the forums and start posting.

I would tell you where this goes, but it would probably get me banned on these forums. That being said I don't think this concerns this community in any way whatsoever and it's entirely down to each Steam user how they handle people they accept as friends.

LOL, yeah its not ideal but 1) it didn't happen on our servers and 2) unfortunately and as you no doubt know you see far worse on servers, including ours.  We tolerate a bit of banter, bad language and the like as long as it is not upsetting people or just causing widespread disruption to the game.  This is sadly a private matter between you two for the first point above.

 

He's been banned and warned.  If he continues with his behaviour then he will no doubt be heading for longer if not permanent ban.  Having said that, as there appears to be some tit for tat going on on that server, if he's provoked into responding we'll also take a pretty dim view on that too.

 

Just rack up the frags and if you can't be civil to each other probably best to say nothing to each other, or be the bigger man and don't rise to it.  If he returns to his old habits of course, use !calladmin or report it and it will be looked into.

Thank you for the response at any rate. I 100% get the trashtalking and uh... "witty" banter, this guy just goes low-brow. The lengths he goes to do so is surprising to me, I guess. Not everyone can be civil. Also, next time I see you on a server and say "Hi" in chat, Fever, I expect you to answer.

Ah, sorry.  Anyone who knows me knows I've got time for anyone...I don't always see my steam messages or the messages in the chat window, I'm usually talking to people whilst I play, messaging people from time to time or checking the admin room for calls...its highly likely this will happen again sadly, but don't take it personally...if I see you on a server I'll be sure to say "hey"...or just add me then I will see you when I arrive on the server, or shortly after you do.

We can't really ban people for things they say off our servers or forums... we do so only in the most extreme cases. I suggest you block him from Steam.

Thank you for coming to us about this. I'm kinda sorry I agreed to reducing that ban now, but hopefully he will come to his senses. If not, there are always Valve servers that he can play on...

In the original ban request, I only posted 2 of his multiple ban/unban requests. I also hoped that he'd "change", but I find it unlikely. I don't mind the guy when he actually plays because he's not bad. But after a certain point, you have to realize that it's a lost cause. (Not to mention that I do feel like a bitch for even getting this involved)
