So, I gave casting a go

I have began attempting casting, here is my first cast of a 6v6 game. Don't expect anything good and you won't be disappointed. Read the description of the video if you watch is please!

a tip for you , wait a 30 secs or so after its processed , then post the link , otherwise you can sometimes end up with a duff looking image (especially if you do this on FB )

Seriously though fair play, good job man and stick with it.  The more I watched the more I realised it cannot be easy to talk for that period of time.  It showed you had an idea of the strats and who was doing what and why which is massively helps.  I'm no expert but I imagine as with most things it takes you a little while to find your "personality/character"...people obviously like to know what is going on but also to be entertained...I think you are more than half way there with both.  I thought you showed a little character/banter during your cast which cannot be easy!  I look forward to future casts

Good job m8 , did you record your voice and overlay it after?  If you didnt then thats a pretty good first try

 

I have recorded 1000's of hours of voice commentary for my work and 99% of the time it takes me longer to do the cuts that it does to do the actual recording. So if you managed to do all that in one go thats really good !

I used Fraps, but I'm going to switch to OBS or Dxtory next time. I've got a lot of things working that I didn't before, and I am going to attempt push to talk.

 

No editing was required, apart from right at the end with moving something from the beginning to the end.

I think OBS is one of the best screen recording programs out there. And on top of that, the ability to overlay multiple different sources.

Microsoft screen recorder , records the audio too.

 

I noticed that it took a while for your upload ,, Fraps records in AVI format I think which produces large file sizes , I typically use wmv for my stuff , but not sure how the quality would be for what your doing .

Yeh, dropped it down to 1gb. With a lot of quality loss...

Don't know how big my videos are after I remder them, but quality is still pretty good with 1080 or 720.

What I will do next time im In game is do a recording using camtasia and then render it as a wmv , see how the quality is.
