Anyone play D&D?

Recommended Posts

Nice to see you guys playing the D&D, really gave me some interest and some ideas with my character creation, it's currently under review by the DM himself.

I've tried something slightly like this in Garrysmod which is called Half-life 2 roleplay which points at the same direction.

A world before Gorden Freemans return where the combine has taken over the earth. You play as a citizen who is forced to live under the rules of the strict laws enforcements called the Civil Protections.

I'm happy to join in this new gamemode :)

Also this is something my character might act to people so far. Don't let him!

Few years ago I played D&D for a couple of months with a bunch of friends. I'm 6ft3 but I played a Dwarf. I wasn't very good at staying in character, but it was still lots of fun.

You finish your character yet? Any questions? You'll need to input the information into the character sheet (up to level 3) on roll20.net when you are done. :)

I'll do that, DB already had a look on it, but I will properly only start from level two and be a lower level than you.

You are welcome to sit in on a session and see if this is something you're interested in doing. We've got room for one more I think. If you want to play, just get the other players permission.

All right, got a question since I can't really figure it out

My feats are Rapid Shot (-2) and Quick Draw (+1) => -1

With my awesome bow of +1 =>  breakeven = 0

But my base is 3 and my ranged is 6

So not sure how that works

To hit (non favored enemy): 1D20+3 or 1D20+6

Damage (non favored enemy): 1D8+3 or 1D8+6

Which is correct? Red or green? Or am I completely wrong with my calculations?

I'll look into this after my lunch.

Okay. I'll set down the facts, and you can decide what you want to do.

Because you are human, you should have three feats in addition to the ones given to you by class. You have chosen: Weapon Finesse, Stealthy, and Quick Draw. I'm not going to let you change Weapon Finesse (which lets you use your dexterity bonus to strike instead of strength, so you could be using a sword you know) or Stealthy (which fits in with your character concept of being a hunter) but I will let you change Quick Draw if you wish because it does not give you a bonus to strike. Quick Draw allows you to draw your weapon as a free action as opposed to a move action. If someone just appeared in front of you normally you'd have to draw your weapon as your move action (or during in some cases), but with Quick Draw you draw your weapon so quickly it's like it's always been in your hands. Read the descriptions of some other feats and decide if this is what you really want.

Your base attack is +3, and your dexterity bonus is +3, so if you use a sword your bonus is +6 and if you use your bow (+1) your attack bonus is +7

Favored Enemy gives you a +2 to your damage rolls but not your attack (strike) so shooting an orc would be at +7 with a +2 to damage

A non-orc would be +7 with no bonus to damage

when you use your Rapid Shot feat you take a  -2 on both your attack rolls that round, so you would attack with your bow at +5 twice

Got it?

Look at Point Blank Shot and Weapon Focus if you're looking to become more accurate with your shooting.

I'll go for Point Blank Shot

So +1 within 30 feet

So I can still do a rapid shot + point blank? Or is it one at a time? I can either shoot twice or shoot once point blank?

Always these stats whores... where's the roleplay?

Note to self: next encounter with orcs will see an intimidation roll, first.
