So since highlander season is approaching like a fat chick spotting a 50% off McDonalds sale, it's time to start practicing!  

 

This thread will contain all of the information needed for our 9 members and subs - though if anyone else is interested in how the team is doing, I'll be posting match information, including maps and scores here.

The first two are usual practice times, so I expect people to be there. I know the third one isn't our usual day, but since we hadn't have any practice yet it would be good to play it. Please let me know as fast as possible if you can make that.

Spy maincall? I'm sorry, but no. The Spy is behind lines and shit and doing Spy stuff, things won't work when half the time he's not able to see what's happening with the combo.

 

Medic, Heavy or Demo maincall for sure. They're the lead pushers, they're the important classes, they're the ones who should be in charge.

Depends what team the spy is on. From watching pros, the spy is sometimes sitting around with C+D, calling and also getting stabs

Spies can call out enemy uber percentage, who's low on health so he can call focus too, but maincalling? It's a big no. Trust me, if it works, people would have done it already. A Spy's game sense is different to a Medic/Demo/Heavy's game sense. What's safe to push for the Spy can kill the combo which is why I will repeat, it's better for the ones who are leading the pushes to lead the pushes. I see no point in having the combo listen to orders when they are the ones who are supposed to be making the orders.

Maybe it'll work in div6 but no higher.

My div1 spy nerd friend says spy maincalling is disgusting xD Trust me, it's a horrible idea and I have no idea why you guys are even thinking about it

It's because of the level of comp experience of the combo and just to take some pressure off of them (I'm obviously not including JB in this).  Sounds like JB may be giving it a shot though which should work OK as he'll be with the combo mostly.  It's good to bounce a few ideas around though...some of use haven't played much in the way of comp.

Fair enough, would it be a good idea if the next time you guys scrim, I can sit in mumble and spectate then give feedback afterwards? That is if you want me to. I'm just looking for something to do since this season is starting soon so I don't merc

@Sparky: I'm saying medic should not be caller this season as I think Domino is not as familiar with highlander as you were, so why burden people with extra responsibilities? Domino is going to have to learn positioning etc as we play our games, I think it would be too much pressure for her to also have to do the calling and why make her do it when we have people in the team with a season under their belts?

It's not a reflection on anyone's skill at playing the game, just a suggestion on how we can best use what experience we have.

As a medic, behind the "wall of meat", you see the status of your team and don't have to look at everyone.

If you are in the front line, you'd have to make sure people are telling you that. For me, it always made a difference.

The earliest I can ever start is 7, the latest I can ever start is 9 - unless you give me a few days warning, then I can possibly start from 6.

 

It may well be that I get in contact with Hietha/Fever via text one day to say 'trains have gone to shit and I wont be on.' I will always try and leave work by 5, but it has taken me 3-4 hours to get home before. But should be on tomorrow without problem, bar train issues :>
