I don't think that it's true that we were 'very much in control'

We took 3 towers in 20 minutes, losing one and were very much in control

When I say that I'm talking about the first 20 minutes, not the entire game. I'd say taking three towers and losing one was being in control...otherwise they wouldn't have lost 3 towers.

I think you're right.  When I play dota I often hear groaning and moaning, occasional arguments and people pointing out the obvious...which is very much like tennis.

I've yet to see/hear anyone smash their mouse or keyboard up though in frustration.  Pretty sure it's happened before though.

Just noticed that replays of ranked games don't show the MMR even though you're on the replay.  I guess the replay doesn't show it as it maybe doesn't determine if you're in it when it is played.  Weird.
