Domino 3,168 #1 Posted January 23, 2015 Hi Dota faggots people Since I am now apparently a dota player (ha) I'm wondering what champs/heroes or whatever you call them are best to play, compared with what I play in league. So I thought, if I describe a bunch of my most played champs, many people can put names to which Dota champs that League ripped off to make my favs on league. (Yes I admit they are knock offs). Firstly, I main Support and Ability power champs - I dunno how that ties over to Dota, but I assume you must have some sort of AP/AD split? AD players deal attack damage, and AP deal ability power. So, I play: Soraka - My fav of all time! http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Soraka Q - AOE spell with a second delay between pool and enemy champs being hit in the face with lightning - heals Soraka for x amount and does a small amount of damage - slows if they are in the middle 50% of the AOE. W - Heals an Ally, using a % of Sorakas own HP E - Places a pool of purple shit on the floor, firstly silencing anyone who is in it, then after a delay, roots them in place. R - Global heal for a certain amount to every ally on the map regardless of distance Passive - 70% movement speed buff when running towards allys on less than 40% hp. Why I like her: Although she is squishy as fuck, she's got a massive amount of ability to sustain her carry in lane, as well as act as a huge assistance in team fights, particually with champions that can be silenced to destroy their ult. Nami (she's a mermaid) http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Nami Q - Drops a bubble of water, incasing enemies like a root W - Heals or damages, depending on cast on ally or enemy - it bounces ally to enemy etc up to 3 times. E - Puts a stat effect on an ally - the next 3 shots do additinoal damage, and it does other stuff like mini speed boost R - Releases a massive tidal wave, knocking up and slowing everyone in its path. Why I like her: Massive ability to control the lane via the R and W, whilst causing harass with the W that also heals the allys in lane if they are moving close to the other players. Cassiopia http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Cassiopeia Q - Bubble bursts on the ground poisoning everything it hits W - AOE poison on the floor E - 5 second cool down on her fang attack (shes half snake), if the enemy is poisoned by Q or W, this cooldown goes to 0.5 seconds, and her passive allows healing from it, meaning she has massive surstain. R - Turns enemies facing her into stone, or slows those with their back to them Why I like her: Although shes an ap carry, and has no heal, I love her as support as she can do huge amounts of damage, allowing for early kills in game Teemo http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Teemo Q - Poison dart that blinds enemies causing them to miss auto attacks W - Move speed boost E - Passive poison R - Deploys mushrooms that poisons enemies Why I like him: The Q blind causes the enemy carry to miss last hits. His mushrooms act as wards, and last up to 10 minutes un-popped, meaning he can gain huge amounts of vision in the jungles. Caitlyn http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Caitlyn Q - fires a bolt damaging champs W - Places a cupcake trap on the floor, rooting enemies E - Fires a net, slowing people, and moving her in the opposite direction R - Long distance sniper rifle shot, that locks onto a champ, but has a few second delay, can be blocked by other players but cant be avoided by the locked target Why I like her: Although I don't play her in normal games (as i cant last hit for shit) I love her high damage and her ability to kite the enemy easily. Also, we share a name XD So in conclusion - any squishy, healer champs with sustain and crowd control is what I love. Domino 3,168 #7 Posted January 23, 2015 Well I've established Dota has a frost archer - which is exactly the same as the ADC Ashe from league And I;ve established that Dota has a sniper who is very similar to Caitlyn, so that's one down. I can't seem to find which Dota champs are healing/support based though. Enchantress, Crystal Maiden and Io seem to be as close as I can find to supports on league. The Hungry Caterpillar 585 #8 Posted January 23, 2015 Witch Doctor's the big healer, has an AoE heal in a circle around him, also has a bouncy stun and a big fuck off nuke ult that shoots laser beams at the bad guys. Pretty good beginner hero. Omniknight's got a heal that damages any enemies close enough to the guy he clicks on, also has a spell to make people magic immune. His ult is an AoE that stops nearby allies from taking physical damage. Is melee though, making it harder to deny and not much good if you like sitting back in the lane. Dazzle's got a healing laser beam, a nice armour buff/debuff and an ability to freeze a teammates health on 1hp, so that they can run away. He has some poison thing, no idea what that's all about though. Cassopeia sounds like Medusa, but Medusa's a carry. The other healers are: Io, Abbadon, Enchantress, Chen, Warlock, Huskar, Necrophos, Treant Protector, Undying, probably forgot someone. Omiknight sounds like Taric Guess Io, Enchantress, Omiknight, Crystal Maiden and Witch Doctor are champs for me, and maybe Dazzle. Tidehunter sounds like Nami/Naut crossbreed on steroids. I can show you the easy crowd controllers...they're the ones I play xD I can't seem to find which Dota champs are healing/support based though. Enchantress, Crystal Maiden and Io seem to be as close as I can find to supports on league. As a squishy, weak support I usually make an urn of shadows which allows me to heal my allies or poison my enemies. It's cheap to make and give you a good buff to your strength which helps with last hitting creeps which gains you gold and experience if they're the enemy creeps (you should let your carry in the lane with you get the vast majority of last hits on enemy creeps though) or denies gold to the enemy and reduces experience given to them if you're last hitting your own creeps (known as denying).So as a support even if you haven't got a healing ability, there are items you can buy. Two other supports I would recommend are... Lich: can sacrifice creeps to restore mana (and therefore helping control the lane and deny gold/experience to enemy), has a damage/slow nuke, can slap decent armour on allies, has a devastating ulti Lion: can steal mana from creeps/enemies, has a stun/damage nuke, can turn enemy hero's into small animals (effectively a slow and silence on their abilities and right click attack), and has a powerful ulti which is just point and click for massive damage 1 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
