steel?! i thought this was going to be a stock map...a map done by valve would have been alot better. Really not happy with that map selection as it's a custom map that is very different from any other valve map and it's very likely most of our goldrush players have never heard of it and will be completely clueless on wtf to do when we play it. I've played it about 4-5 times and i still have no clue where the enemy is coming from half the time. If it were dustbowl/gravelpit/well it would be better because those maps are more straightforward and it'll be alot more likely our players will be at least somewhat familiar with it.

It's a map that's played on the Stock Maps server, isn't that the point? We choose a map from ours and you choose (the only) map from yours.

The problem you are playing against us on our map which is fairly straightforward to begin with and you guys play it regularly. The map you chose is very complicated and i doubt our players have played it at all or if they have only a few times. All the other maps you had to choose from are straightforward and because they are valve maps there is a good chance we played it before. If they hadn't played them before the valve maps can be learned very quickly because they are so straightforward, steel is ass backwards and would take a long time to learn.

UPDATE : Keg absolutely cannot make it for this date and time. I tried to reschedule the match to accommodate Keg's schedule but it fouled up the other team, so we're just going to go ahead and make the best of it. Miyari and Nket aren't interested in playing without Keg, so they have been replaced also. And in case anyone is wondering, I did try to get Lunchbox but the date and time is bad for him also. Hopefully we can do this again sometime and get the Lotus people involved.

I did manage to change the time by one hour so that Mojo is now available to play demoman which moves Rydawg over to Sniper and Captain Planet up to engineer ("Goodnight, Irene!"). Since Henry was the backup medic, he is now the main medic and I put funkyfresh in as the new backup medic since he expressed interest in this position also.

Regarding Steel, I know it is a confusing map, that's exactly why I chose it. I am pretty sure the GR team will have an advantage over us on Gold Rush (having played on GR 24/7 #2 recently, I noticed that the teams are lot more focused and organized) so it only makes sense for me to choose a map that gives the Stock team an advantage also. In fairness, you guys have warning so you have time to learn it.

hopefully it'll be a good fight, and i'll be up for a rematch with more lotus people when i'm back from japan. I think killerkeg is just afraid of my bottle .

I scheduled it 2 weeks in advance to increases the chances of people being able to make it. Usually, the more advance notice you give, the more likely people are to attend. Apparently I picked a time that is bad for a lot of people, but this is probably more just random bad luck than anything else (unless I am missing something?).

without henry and rydawg, we need a sniper, but all other positions are filled because funkyfresh can do medic.

Instead of rescheduling, I am inclined to try to setup another future match and make sure that more people can attend. I kind of wanted a "test run" match anyway.
