it seems to me like people are assuming everything is NOT-going to be at a fixed level of modification... random is non-existant unless you watch the static on your TV when you forget to pay the cable bill.... it would be more like fixed probability.... there is no way way they would make it any other way than something along the lines of (+10% means a deffinent -10%, or 2 different -5% roughly) cause if it were any other way they would get flooded with complaints... also then people could so very easily make a map to easily grind or hack to get what they want... witch would probaly mean there is a set cap for the amount of stats affected to avoid the balance complication as much as possible...

and yes /agree with boywonder's statement

I don't think you guys are taking into consideration that there are also "negative" modifiers.

I'm gonna toss this out there.

Maybe some good things will come at a... well... cost?

Say for example:

A larger clip for a soldier (1 extra rocket) comes at a cost of 5% damage reduction.

Or a "HUGE CLIP!" for a soldier (4 extra rockets) comes at the cost of 20% damage reduction but slows soldiers down to "heavy" speed? (or maybe no crits and less health?)

The first will probably be a more common item while the later might be a "rare" item because of its extreme value changes (even if it isn't that good).

Some attributes are always going to be better than others. So while there may be lots of options. The result will be most people will end up with the same guns simply because if you look at any RPG games, thats always been the case.

I think more damage will always be better than slowing someone down. Think about it. If you slow a soldier down, he can still kill you. Id rather attempt to kill him faster. Of course, the values matter. If it slows you down by 50%, I would of course pick that over an extra 2% damage (just making up numbers here to make a point)

You go into deep discussion about the Type of bonuses which can cause imbalance. I say no, you have to take the % bonus in consideration because without it, its pointless. Dumbass. Give it up. FYI, the changes aren't made by some 14 year old such as yourself. They are reviewed extensively by the team and the tweaks are based on statistics, something you don't understand.

it is one thing to state your arguments in a constructive way, but this is not... you seem to believe that your this gift to the human race or something... learning doesnt mean you are not ignorant, it means you have learned (obviously), basicly what i mean is that anyone can learn about something but that doesnt make them wize or experienced... and ego doesnt make up for that, in alot of ways would do the opposite... because instead of "facts" you end up with construed "facts" witch in the end means they arnt, but are being served as if they are...

and for the record the stat trade-off comment, about 1 always better than the other, i disagree... first off trading damage for clip size would mean that yes more damage faster but not less time reloading cause you would actually have to make more reloads in the end and prolly ends up taking longer to do the same amount of damage and would prolly also mean that alot of that extra damage is useless because over-kill damage means nothing more than i took damage i could have given to someone else in the same time at barly any extra cost to one person and .... accomplished nothing of any significance exept that i could have applied that damage to something that it would have at least an effect on... that and it would also mean 1 miss is = or greater to the other option cause not only is fail fail you would be taking it with the down-side aswell to what was supposedly the failed benifit.

and set stats are not "always" better than others but talent is not able to be a stat, a truly skilled person can do more with less substance than someone with more (more may potentialy be better, but when applied with fail its still fail and will also have the the flaw to go with it)... but only if that person is willing to think past what some have deemed "best" or "better" and actually find an efficient way to apply what they have constructivly to accomplish the goal... without the down-side...

and lastly it will effect you in the end cause what you think is your skill, is in actuality you useing your teams skill to seem good and thats why you only play on the winning team and yes i have witnessed you team switch multiple times in one session cause once a team looses you no-longer want to be on that "crap team" and switch back... yes sometimes i too switch teams to the winning one but thats usually too either be with poeple whom i like to socialize with or get a different perspective on what they are doing and see if i can apply some of that to what i am doing to improve myself for the sake of future teams...

but those are just my oppinions and prolly dont mean squat to you ROFLMAO
